Nobody knows, really.

There's indications that the Haf-Orc is due with Mod 10.. which I assume will be around June. Half-Elves may or may not come then or later. Druids may or may not be then too.

sorry for the being a noob but what are halflings? i always thought they are half elves half humans so what are they?

D&D very obviously copied hobbits from Tolkien (where "halfling" appears as a term used some humans). Thus they are a separate race of obscure origins, just like humans and elves.

Per Eberron lore:

Halflings, Elves and Humans are separate species that each have their own origins.

Eberron Halflings are velociraptor-riding plains nomads somewhere between the Mongols and the Native American tribes of the great plains. Their home territory is the continent of Khorvaire. The Sarlonan humans who first encountered them called them 'Halflings' in their language (the precursor to common) because they were about half as tall as a human.

Eberron Humans hail from the continent of Sarlona (which has been completely taken over by the Inspired in modern times.) The humans on Khorvaire are descended from various waves of colonists that came from Sarlona.

Eberron Elves originated on Xen'drik as a slave race of the ancient Giants. The Drow are those elves who stayed behind when the elves broke free of slavery and fled to the island of Aerenal. Some of the Drow remained loyal to what was left of the giants, others inhabit giantish ruins or hide underground. Why the Drow are blue is unclear, although they were still present on Xen'drik when whatever magical cataclysm that annihilated the Giantish civilization happened.

By happenstance, Humans are capable of producing offspring by mating either with Elves or Orcs, if sufficient alcohol is involved. When Sarlonan (human) colonists arrived in orc or elf-inhabited regions, intermarriage was common. In modern times, most Half Elves have two Half-Elf parents, and most Half-Orcs have two Half-Orc parents. The "Half-races" have separate racial identities, rather than seeing themselves as offshoots of either of their parent races.

Sorry to be a pest; and I bet this comes up ALL the time, but, with the announcement of U5, and releasing of Half-Orc, any more info on Half-Elves?
