Enter the Kobold Weapons

Hey everyone, was wondering which would be considered useful weapons to hit the named kobold and efreeti with? I usually just blast them with spells, but I've begun meleeing him and it seems transmuting doesn't do much for the kobbie.

So does anyone know his alignment, resistances, etc?

Kobolds are Lawful Evil, so consider Holy, Anarchic, Pure Good, and True Chaos for alignment based damage. That particular kobold also has something close to a fire template and takes double damage from ice meaning Frost or Icy Burst are good options as well.

As for the DR, the paragon template adds DR 10/Epic.

One quick question, which I know has come up but I forgot to pay attention to it, can DR/Epic be overcome by anything in the game? I mean I assume it requires an epic weapon of some sort, so I'm wondering if any of the named loot is considered epic.

Usually DR that we can't beat isn't DR/Epic, it's DR/-. Nothing beats it.

For the Kobold, the optimal weapon is an Icy Burst of Greater Reptilian Bane in each hand for most classes. But you don't need that level of 'uberness' - really it's the adds that are the problem there, not the kobold.

For the Djinni, Icy Burst of Greater Evil Outsider Bane is the nuts, but again, you don't need it. In both cases, a humble Icy Burst of Pure Good weapon from the House D brokers, or most popular Shroudcrafted weapons except Radiance will be fine.

What beats /Epic DR is a +6 or greater weapon ie the ectulal + is that high (bains don't count), the onyl way to get these is POST level 20 in PnP, will that change in DDO i don't know, in PnP you would nto realyl face epic Dr untill then or VERY close to then any way and if you did the idea would be YOUR not sposed to over come it creachers that noramly have it are GODs or Demi-Gods at least.... When your epic level the gods are no longer as much of a match fro you as you now walk amoung them sorta.....

Hey hey hey, take a number there. I have been planning my own module once I ascend for a while now!

But you don't need that level of 'uberness' - really it's the adds that are the problem there, not the kobold..

We don't have any problems with the trash fireballing, but I know we CAN kill it in 20 seconds, which makes the fight be over before he spawns stuff. However, when I switch away from my caster that changes the equation significantly because I didn't have any weapons that were really giving me any 'ooomph' vs the kobbie - just some 'ehhh, that's not bad'

At the very least I was planning on bringing in a lit2 the next time, but I wanted something useful for the offhand. Still, appreciate the replies.

Make sure you have the Lag Environmental Effect in your lair, a couple of twitch puzzles, and you'll ascend unchallenged

I use shroud triple frost heavy picks. They eat him up.
