Well, as some of you may know, Slink's last nyte playing was Friday. I stayed on with him 'till he left for good. He did not want to leave, just had to. I will miss him greatly, he was one of the first folks I ever ran with, along with Katagan (Vikconis), andrewii (Alexandro), and Illuminati. We will all miss him, and I'll keep hoping for his return... It is a sad day. I know some think that the virtual friends we have here are not "real" friends. I beg to differ, spending hours at a time having fun adventuring together (more than you can in modern times BTW), talking about real life, and setting up time to have fun again. That is as real as it gets. We just have different avenue of having fun today. Don't see what is wrong with that, or what is not "real".

So, Slink my true friend, you will be missed, I hope to see you again someday, and good luck in your new endeavor.

I just recently met him but could tell he was a real class act. I hope to see him come back one day.

Well, don't know if he want folks to know, (sorry bud) but... His family owns a ranch that is kinda isolated, folks need some help with it. He'll get on the forums from time to time and answer my e-mails too, but from the library... I told him that once I win the lotto, I'm buying him a satellite service and a lifetime sub so he'll have no reason! But believe me, he loves the game and the folks on it, just not the right time for him right now... I will keep my fingers crossed though just in case! Ashame too because this game just keeps getting better. I'm sure if this game was released like it is now, WOW would be out of business

What can I say about Slinky. I have ran with him since the game came out of beta and went live. We were guild mates for a while. He set out on his own, but me and him still hung out a lot. I have left and came back a few times to the game. He was always the first one to welcome me back and we would hang out. I really hope I can return the favor someday. As far as online friends vs real life friends I have to say they can be better then real life. You hang out more, talk a lot more, and build a deeper relationship then with some real life friends. You can talk about personal stuff a lot easier knowing that the chances are good you will never meet in person. I have many online friends in DDO that I have lost contact with. I would love to catch up with all of you again. At least this time when I left, I did not delete all my toons. So I still have a high level. You will be missed Slink and I hope you come back to us soon.
