Why not? Think about it... heck if your crazy enough you add some intimidate on it with high ac...

Do you really need intim. if the firewall truly is "nasty?"

it can help to keep them bunched up, it could be that some of them are not in the firewall.. but in the intim range..

i did not think of intimidate on my caster, not sure if i cld get it up high enough but that wld be fun to have. and moose you and me think alike, only i also toss down an acid fog with my fw or cloudkill, for if i wanna cart em around and on crits its 120 a tick. 59 ac is not always conventional on a caster but imo its nice. set down my aoe n like u said turtle up.

Evasion 14 Wizard 2 Rogue = 41 Self Buffed AC. 264 HP's help also, but evasion is the REAL trick.

my 28 point capped caster is at a 20 AC... with bracers and something else... otherwise she is at an 11... and she dies a lot... but it doesn't bother me... she dies cause I forget to jump around sometimes or to move... but she kills just about everything around her... so even if she goes down she is taking the rest with her.

she has 222 hp and 2230 sp... need to upgrade the goggles to get her more sp.... but I wasn't overly worried about it since she can go through most quests with the max/emp on and then throw on the extend at hit the extras.

She is my fave one to play... prolly cause I don't want to be front line melee... and I don't want to solo... if I wanted to solo I wouldn't play the game

Intimidate isn't a bad idea. But you don't need AC to mitigate damage if you're mobile.

B/c an argument can be made that as a caster, you're sacrificing item slots for AC that isn't spectacular. Also, as a caster, you're avoiding aggro in the first place, and when u do get it, you neutralize it right away, instead of sitting there letting the mob swing at you....and the few occasions the mob does swing at you, you have some sort of protection on yourself like displacement and/or stoneskin.

Some people might have to make sacrifices whereas others will find they still have flexibility with the items they use.

My wizard's AC = 50% miss chance, or 99% miss if there is a Solid Fog around

If something has True Seeing I stay the heck away from it!

I could probably get just under AC 40 with a LOT of effort, but my hit defense would still be ~50% from Displacement, the AC not helping me enough to bother with.
