Default Looking for build help - DPS Rogue / Good Rogue Skills / Survivability

I posted something similar on a request-a-build thread, but I figured I would hit a little larger audience. I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. My guess is that something like this build has been done many times. If you have a pointer to a suitable build, it would be greatly appreciated.

This has to be a 28 pt. build. I don't have any tomes. I have been thinking of the possibility of a Halfling or Dwarf 10 rogue / 6 ranger, TWF, Tempest, good at rogue skills, with good survivability, good UMD and heal wands. I prefer Halfling as a race I am open to an additional class to mix with the primary rogue. I am open to a number of suggestions since I am pretty green when it comes to builds.

    Priority List:
    - DPS
    - Rogue Skills
    - Survivability (not too squishy - I solo / duo quite a bit)
    - Self Sustained Healing (wands are good)

    Thanks in advance.

    Dwarf: 8 Rogue / 6 Ranger / 2 Fighter

Strength 16 (all level ups here)
Dexterity 16 (untill level 15 when GTWF is due you will easily be able to affort a +1 tome just by leveling up)
    Constitution 16
    Intelligence 10
    Wisdom 8
    Charisma 6

You wont have many skill points to play around with (forget Hide & Move Silently, concentrate on the core trap skills), but enough to pay for full trap skills. Take Tempest.

    Feats:
    - Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack
    - Thoughness
    - TWF, ITWF, GTWF, OTWF
    - IC:Slashing
    - Power Attack

Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

I think that the Crippling Strike that you'd get from going 10 Rogue/6 Ranger is more useful than what you'd get for going 8/6/2 fighter.

    2 feats, +1 STR.

Which two of the following Feats would you kick for Crippling Strike, especially on a build that wants to primarily focus on DPS?
    - Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack
    - Thoughness
    - TWF, ITWF, GTWF, OTWF
    - IC:Slashing
    - Power Attack

    Toughness and OTWF .

I'd probably go human instead, though.

I'd recommend going for 400 favor and getting drow. I have a drow 11/pally3/fighter2 with acrobat 1. He's high end with gear and tomes at this point, but very high ac and umd for heal scrolls he is very survivable. Plus he can do every trap but cabal on elite without boosting. Just a thought.

Dwarf gives +2 CON, +2 damage / +2 to-hit axe enhancements, armor mastery for higher AC and +5 to saves against spells (aka 80% of all saves).

Human gives a Bonus Feat and +1 skill points per level.

Thoughness gives you up to 68 HP.
OTWF effectively gives you +2 damage with your off-hand attacks. (Difference between Dwarfen Axe and Handaxe)

This build's UMD is far from optimal. The build will also feel pain when leveling with a 10 Int. It will definetly be hard to keep certain skills maxed out. You sacrifice far to much for a few points in DPS and while you do have the HP to support your weak AC, duoing will be quite frustrating. Also, sneaking is a major tool for a soloing rogue. If I were to build a duoing/soloing rogue, I would definetly pay more attention to his defenses

I started a 10 rog 6 rgr build about 2 weeks ago. It is a str build that still has fair trap monkey skills ( which isn't saying much the way the game is set up). At least at this point, I have no problems with traps, or locks. On some elite quests, my search is a bit weak. He is lvl 8 1/2 now and does very well. I don't put alot of weight on kill counts as many do, but I rarely don't have the top # of kills regardless of party make up. I dont have uber equip, but I do have some pretty decent stuff. I use +4 mithril bp, and I dual wield a +1 holy of pg dwarven axe and a wounding ha of pg. I also have shock, ice and fire equivalent weapon sets. He is a 32 pt build, but that is ez to compensate for. My ending stats looks something like this:

    str 28 +2 from ram's = 30 w/out rage or madstone
dex 22 with only a +4 dex item. I've got a breastplate of vol so dex could be higher, but would need another armour mastery enh.
con 24 w/out rage or madstone
    int 16
    wis 14
    cha 6

Feats that I that aren't automatic with the lvls:

    dodge, mobility, spring attack
    toughness
GTWF (which i suppose could be swapped for PA or I could just choose PA with lvl cap increase)
improved slash (which I may swap out for OTWF when I craft min 2 weapon. I was thinking of dual wielding a min 2 daxes or 1 axe and the radiance rapier)
    Crippling strike
    Favored Giant and evil outsider

hp's approx 356 end game w/out rage or madstone
sp's approx 155 low, but enough to take care of just myself

dd in the 48 range self buffed
pick in the 52 range self buffed
search in the 43 range self buffed

Other than reflex, his saves are not strong. I know that there are people that will probably point out the faults and find fixes for them, but I am very happy with him so far. He is a versatile guy that is self sufficient in many ways. I think it's an easy build to make w/out a ton of uber equip or tomes. Oh well, I hope it helps the OP.

    Default You guys are awesome!

Thanks everyone. I now have a few interesting builds to play around with. I'll try them out and see what works. Should be fun.
