    Default Disney or Universal

Just wondering about people's opinions ...

If you were heading down with your family to Orlando and you family consisted of:
    -Boy 18 yrs
    -Girl 16 yrs
    -Boy 15 yrs

And ... you could only afford Dinsey or Universal ... not both.

    What would you chose?

    Any feedback appreciated.

    Universal, without a doubt.

Especially the age of those kids.

Disney is more geared for younger folk.

I live in Florida, been to both when my mum comes from Scotland in the HEIGHT OF SUMMER and wants to WALK AROUND A CROWDED ASS PARK FOR HOURS!!!

I swear, Scottish people would vacation ON the sun if they could all the while telling each other how 'brilliant and top notch' the heat was.

Prolly Universal, although Epcot isn't that bad for those ages.

LOL ... thanks for the info ...

When is spring break in Florida? I would like to plan to not be there during that time.

The boys might appreciate it but I wouldn't appreciate the lines

I agree ... Universal is the better bet ... and for older kids much more to do there than Disney. Just took my family and we broke Universal into 2 days .... One at Universal Studios Park and one at Islands of Adventure.... One ticket gets you into both parks.

Hope that helps ... Take care and enjoy that vacation.

    Universal
"The sword itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with swords."

Probably Universal would be the better choice for those ages. More "exciting" rides and things to do than you find at Disney, even in Epcot.

Its not too long a drive (couple of hours on the highway) to pop over to Tampa and Busch Gardens, they have some pretty impressive coasters, and plenty of samples in the ahem beer gardens...plus the zoo type stuff as well.

If you go to the Tampa area instead, the beachs in Saint Pete and Clearwater/etc are something to do to...

Spring Break is from Feb thru March pretty much....from what I see on business trips down that way...

Brought my family down a few times to extend trips over long weekends, things like that....
    Sarlona - The Ko Brotherhood :Jareko-Elf Ranger12Rogue8+4E; Hennako-Human Cleric22; Rukio-Human Paladin18; Taellya-Halfling Rogue16; Zenako-Dwarf Fighter10Cleric1; Daniko-Drow Bard20; Kerriganko-Human Cleric18; Buket-WF Fighter6; Xenophilia-Human Wiz20; Zenakotwo-Dwarf Cleric16; Yadnomko-Halfling Ftr12; Gabiko-Human Bard15; lots more

How many days will you be there, because both Universal parks can be done in one day(its a long day, but it can be done). Otherwise they are at best a 2 day event, so if you are in Orlando for longer you will have an empty week.

It all depends ... I am trying to make the decision between flying or making the 28 hr drive.

If I drive I will only be there for about 3-4 days. I know Disney has a great promotion going on right now (7 days for the price of 4) but if I drive then I won't be able to take advantage of that anyways.

Can anyone lend me some plat so I can stay longer? Maybe I can sell my vorpal at the border.

    Default Ps ...

Only my daughter is in to coasters ... One of my boys seems apathetic (typical for 18 yr olds from what I hear) and my 15 year old is scared crapless of heights.

Both Disney and Universal have multiple theme parks in Orlando. The most fun theme park overall for that age group. Universal Islands of Adventure. This park has the best roller coasters, the best thrill rides.. best restaurants... Also City Walk is a great and fun time which is just outside of Islands of Adventure... Disney is more geared toward 3-5 yr olds...

Im the same way with rollercoasters, ya wont get me on one. Universal has a whole bunch more than just rollercoasters though. Some silly and some still scary.

I think spring break runs feb to march, but unless you plan on going to Daytona Beach you've not much to worry about...

Here's a suggestion. Why not forgo the parks and come by my way? I'll give you and yer fambly the redneck vacation they always wanted. Huntin' with or without dogs, gator rasslin, beef jerky makin', Busch drinkin', porch sittin', tobacco chewin', camo wearin', air boat ridin', off-roadin', no a/c havin' redneck fun! All for $5000 a week! (Ive one spare room but yer gonna hafta put up with my cats.)

North-central Florida is where its at...

Used to live in Orlando definately would go with Universal with that age group though I will say there are parts of Disney that are for the more grown up specially the clubs but sounds like your just looking for some family fun. Hope you have fun on your vacation and if any of your kids are into comics Islands of Adventure should be fun

I would check the Disney hotels for rates, sometimes the value resorts have great deals, and they are decent hotel rooms, with food on site, big pools etc.
