    Default WF Barbarian Gear/Weapons

My only wf toon and not much experience with them.
I have gone back to playing my THF WF Barbarian and forgot how much of a beast he is
I just made level 10 and looking to see what gear I should be looking/grinding for.
And I plan on doing alot of raiding with this guy and am worried about AC and what role to fill, and I haven't taken a tank over Level 11!
I know I could change my feats and go TWF but dont want too... deal with it
His starting stats where something like this:
    32 pointer
    STR 17(+1 Tome)
    DEX 15(+1 Tome)
    CON 17(+1 Tome)
    INT 8
    WIS 9(+1 Tome)
    CHA 6
Here's what he is wearing now:
Head: +2 wis or +7 intimiate helm
    Goggles: +4 refex
    Necklace: +4 con
    Docent:Giantrelic docent +5/mod fort/shield clickie
or +1 Fearsome Docent of acid guard
    Cloak: +2 Resistance
    Belt: Planar gird
    Bracers: +3 str
    Boots: +5 dex
Rings: 5 rage rings.. lol and ring of feathers
    Trinket: nothing I thinks

    Weapons:
    +5 Greatsword of Pure Good
    +1 Greatsword of Disruption
    +1 Paraylzing Geataxe
+3 Flaming Burst Maul of Shattermantle
    +2 Cursespewing Greataxe
Have +1 Vorpal Greatsword of Pure Good waiting for me at lvl 12

Looking at what I got I need a protection item big time will check AH and
I know I need to get my hands of +5/6 con and str items, but I haven't played this guy in awhile, but will check AH.
Any help would be nice, and I enjoy playing wf, just hate drinking so **** many pots

Might have better luck with this in the Barbarian class forums, more eye traffic there I think.

    Trinket: Bloodstone.
    Necklace: Scourge Choker
    Bracers: Leviks

The first two add a ton of damage, the bracers and some healers friend enhancements will make you easier to heal.

My personal opinion only here, I'd go for Greataxes if you will be 2 handing. Higher damage and better # on glancing blows, especially if you have greater 2-handed fighting. Next time I'm on, gimme a shout out. I have a handful of Greataxes in the bank that would fit your level that I currently don't use anymore. Will certainly give you a nice bang for the buck.

Beat me to it. I have a Human Barb that was planned to use only greatswords, and made it to capp with that plan however, After using a identical type greataxe vs a GS , there really is no comparison in dmage with GA far beating GS and I wont be going back to GS anytime soon. Im currently replace his equip with GA.

Concenrtate on DPS, all those top 5 weapons will go mostly unused on a THF barb. There's no way you can keep up with Daul vorps, granted a vorp nowadays is near required in some instances.
A nice Stat Damger( of which I do recommend GS over GA) Weakening/Efeebling or something...
Other than that , a +5 transmuting of pure good and or a greensteel when you can earn it are all you need.

I also have a TWF WF barb 14/ftr2.. Ill never make another non WF barb again.......

Make sure you have Power attack, and any dmage boost you can get. A Scourge Choker, hahah, good luck with that one. My Human barb jsut got his after literally hundreds of runs over 2 years.

Thanks Pallol, not sure when I will be on again, because wife-aggro is at a all time high, but I will be on Sat/Sun night for sure and will look you up.

I can already till my DPS will be good with Greensteal or anything for that matter... little worried I will be a heal sponge thou.

Thanks for the Greataxe replies... makes sense with higher crit mod

If you still can, make sure you work on jacking up your DR. That will help a lot towards not being a manasponge. I'm most likely in the same situation as you are. With decent buffs, my AC tops out around 42 or so. Having said that put points into DR as you go, get a shield for times when you want to stop damage ( Shroud runs where you beat the snot out of the Orthon/Devil/Earth so fast that you have to "wait" on everybody else). The last thing I would mention is grind the snot out of The Cursed Crypt. The Docent of Defiance comes in very useful in certain situations. You may even be lucky enough to pull a Scourge Choker while you are at it. (I pulled my Docent on my 78th run, hopefully you will have better luck)

My DR is 5 right now... should I invest in the DR boosts too?

use the DR boosts until you can get a docent of defiance, the natural DR line isnt quite worth it as near end game you'll have stoneskin alot of the time.

leviks for bracers are nice on raid bosses, the dq bracers are awesome for everything else (they give you 30 hp when you're hit, procs about 25% of the time) also the glacier bracers can help out in certain fights too

the choker isnt all that on a THF, simply b/c to best use it means you need to be getting clobbered, and with bosses like the pit fiend you can actually stand out of his melee range and still hit him with your axe, then bosses like the stormreaver just attack too slow. Personally I would use the finger necklace or the emerald claw (or shroud)

Titan belt is nice, but regular ol +6 stat works too, or regular greater false life

of course minos legens for helm

tharnes goggles out of VoD is a given

tumbleweed helps when u're in a 6 man party w/o a bard, as a warforge you should have -11/+22 Power attack

for the same reason as the tumbleweed I love my ooze gaurd cloak, lots of options here, resists, more HP, or damage gaurds

bramblecasters, backstabbergloves (before tharnes), or a shroud item works well n the glove spot

madstone boots, with a pair of firestorm greaves when needed

bloodstone or kardins eye or head of good fortune

AC is a bit irrelevant on a THF barbarian, you'll be taking too many penalties from rage to get your AC up there, also with defiance or the boosts you'll have very respectable DR, along with on hit effects to help out (defiance and demonic consort, 20 DR, and any damage that gets thru gives you 30 HP?? makes you alot more survivable on trash mobs that dont hit like mack trucks. I didnt even know the bats in the game did damage until leveling up a new toon, they just couldnt beat my barbs DR)

yes it is, its a super shard effect, so 24 large ingredients to make, makes anything that hits you either make a dc 40 fort save or be sundered for -5 AC

also has a chance to proc a lvl 12 ooze, which is a beast of an ooze, capable of tanking raid bosses on normal for a decent amount of time, or clearing out regular trash mobs

Going to look into ooze guard or any guard for that matter, having lower ac makes guard items more usefull.
