Default Lag in part 4 of the shroud needs to be addressed

    Hello Turbine,

I think it's time to take a hard look at reducing the number of Flying Blades in part 4 of the shroud as a lag prevention measure. At times, part 4 of the shroud is pretty much undoable because of lag.

Sunday, around 6pm est I went on a shroud run that resulted in a party wipe upon initial aggro because everyone lagged out for 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds we all regained connectivity but only 3 party members were still alive.

Today, nearly the same thing occurred. Healing wasn't going off even though the cleric's SP bar was going down.

It's one thing if lag just hits a single player, but I've noticed it hitting everyone in the part 4 of the shroud of late and at times, hitting so hard that it's not playable.

FYI, I have a high speed internet connection and although lag hits at times throughout DDO quests and areas, it seems especially bad in part 4 of the shroud of late.

    Thanks,

    Dedicated and Concerned DDO Player

I tend to find that being a cleric in the shroud leads to lots of those moments. Part five as well for me. I remember casting mass heals and them not going off, players saying "HEAL!" and me being like "I'M TRYING ALREADY!?!?!?!?!"

I think there was an issue with global DDO server lag around that time. It was pretty bad no matter where you were. It felt like it persisted for about 3-4 hours.

Reducing numbers of blades, but increasing the damage they do in accordance might be the way to go. For instance, instead of 16 blades in two packs of 8 each dealing 15 damage, we could have 4 blades in two pairs each dealing 60 damage.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

What makes people think the lag has anything to do with the blades????

There are blades in part 5 too.
