Well, you're VERY close Shugar.

In college, a good friend of mine and I were in AFROTC (that's Air Force ROTC) together. His last name was "Eisenhauer." His nickname was "Ike" and on occasion (when he was feeling loopy) he would run around saying "I am the Ikeman" (pronounced: Ike-man).

Anyway, he played PnP D&D like I did and he had a Elf Wizard which he named "Ikeman." My friend was a really great guy so I named my Elven Wizard in DDO after him.

ok jokes aside, eisenhower is derived from eisenhauer. prolly the change was to make it more english sounding than german. your friend could very much be related to dwight eisenhower (maybe distant blood relative) and possibly be given the nickname for various reasons
