    Default Canceling auctions?

The other day I posted an auction, realized the price was too low and wanted to cancel it. This was about 2 minutes after the auction posted.

The cancel button wasn't lit. Ok, perhaps waiting a few minutes would do it...proceeded to post several more auctions.

Still couldn't cancel it. Ok, signed off and back in. Nope. Still within the first hour that it's supposed to be cancelable...confused.

Is this something known that I missed the note for?
Suggestion to Turbine: Have new character slots open up automatically based on months since account start date.
Update: EU+Store = close enough. Thank you.

It better be known by now... It's been that way since the AH was first put in the game. (And I think I bug reported it a couple of mods ago.)

You can get the "cancel" button to light up. Click all around to different items, post another item and click on it, etc. Eventually, you the button will light up.

worst case scenario (if it makes financial sense to do so), logon another character and buyout the item and relist it

I realize this isn't a fix and not really even an "acceptable" workaround but it might save you a few copper

Had someone lucked out and spotted placed a bid on the item already?

No, no one had bid on it.

Regardless, within the first hour it should be cancelable at will.

This is the first time this has happened to me...the rare occasion when I've wanted to cancel an auction in the past, the button has always worked. Sigh.

Not that earth-shattering, it wasn't a hugely valuable item, I just applied my usual math for marginally auctionable items to the fields (I mark 'em down quite a bit, my haggler is a damage sorc who sidelines at selling, not a dedicated haggle bard) and not a hey-this-could-be-pretty-useful start & buyout.

I think all you have to do is click somewhere else within that box, the one with the cancel button in it, a blank area, and the button should light up. Test it with something cheap if you want to know for sure.

I have never, NEVER, been able to cancel an auction. The button has never lit up for me.

Yup, that always works for me too, you just seem to need to deselect that item.

    Or I've just been lucky...
