Tolero,
Curious, why is http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Hirel...adora_Ironclaw Isadora Ironclaw a follower of the Sovereign Host? Also, aren't all drow females mistresses and superior to the drow males and only the males are serving? Aren't they supposed to follow the Vulkoor? Perhaps, I am missing something here.
Asking a drow female to serve other people especially non-drow rivvels is shocking.
With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
I figure that Isadora Ironclaw is like 99% of the other drow running around Stormreach--not at all bound by traditional drow culture for one reason or another. There is no reason that drow can't worship the Sovereign Host (or a warforged the Silver Flame rather than the Lord of Blades), even though the drow living in tribes in the jungle worship Vulkoor. On the other hand, it looks like every drow cleric hireling in the compendium that has a "Faith" enhancement worships the Sovereign Host (and there are no drow paladins listed). It might have been nice to have at least one who followed his or her ancestral traditions.
Also, I don't think that Eberron drow have the matriarchal society of old-school drow. I could be wrong about that last one, though.
Regardless of setting, they may have done it to keep from having a hireling that summons more creatures (The Scrow), or they just realise that Unyielding Faith is a decent enhancement....and the others....not so much (that they can get...).
No point in gimping them.

That's dissapointing. Seems like it would be a nice thing if the Hireling contracts just started and stopped the Hireling timers so that I could in fact carry contracts around indefinitely, if I so chose. Oh well.
Keep in mind, I am a noob and haven't even tried the hirelings yet.

Mine did not have restore, but might have been too low in level.
Why no Hirelings for the lowbies on Korthos?

Make sure that when you're providing us with the Hireling feedback that you provide the name of your Hireling In some cases, it may be an issue with a particular Hireling, and not all Hirelings. Remember that Hirelings are all unique and don't always behave the same way, so providing us with the name of your Hireling is a great help!
Ha, caught up to you again T.

In the spirit of kindness between players exspecially in a pug.. can we have contract timers count down from first use?
Already there is some hostility because someone is watching their hireling fade away while someone else decided they need to get house P buffs, has to let out the dog, has a phone call, etc...
There are already enough interpersonal issues that cause strife in a party... i'd love for hirelings to not be another addition.
Thanks for listening.
I hired Dheran Giles.
I am excited about the future prospects of this.
I am disappointed that it is taking so long for this to reach fruition.
I think it is ridiculous to only have 4 spell options on a level 13 cleric, and especially that one of tose options is cure light wounds. Where are the cleric buffs/offensive spells?
Especially until they get a bunch of the hireling-goes-away-forever bugs fixed.... the timer should be at 6 hours. Bump it up for the previews/beta'ing even if you decrease it at a later time.
Casual DDOaholic
I hired a 16 sorc and a 16 cleric and found them difficult to control. Below are the problems I had:
- I found no way to make the sorc cast an extended haste.
- The sorc routinely tried to use a crossbow to attack Devils
- The sorc can't cast a firewall until you make 'em target a mob. What happened to preparing a block of warmed over death for enemies ahead?
- The cleric when set to "Active" tried to Melee mobs with a mace. When she took damage, she tried to cure light wounds her self and subsequently failed a concentration check. Until she died.
- The cleric, even when she has True Res, only used Raise Dead. After that, she cast one cure light wounds. Had to manually instruct her to cast a heal spell.
- The cleric seems unable to cast a restoration / greater restoration.
The cleric in general seemed to be especially stupid. When left to her own devices, she aggro's every mob with a mace and then subsequently gets beat down because she's unable to turn Quicken on and safely heal herself. It seems that the Cleric is convinced she's a tank, but is so astoundingly ******** that she couldn't make it through water works.
If suggestions on changes were being requested, i'd make the suggestion that the cleric have two active modes, one where she simply heals/repairs people and one where she tries to kill things. They are so close to being able to do a few useful tasks, but just aren't quite there yet.
Ooh, yes. I hired Zefyn Kurimas (Sorcerer) and Jatrina Sartosa (Cleric). I just hired Jatrina again, and when set to active in the Vale, she died trying to melee the rats just outside the door. She seems to wait until about 15-20% health before she drinks a pot. When the next hit from a mob wipes that out and brings her to a lower HP total, she then tries to cast a Heal spell on her self.
