Better be ready to throw in some other goodies to make the trade happen. I've had both and traded both.
Because the Pick only Crits on a 20, the puncturing doesn't take place very often and so has a much lower value.
The Short Sword crits on 19 & 20, Which is twice as often as the Pick.

I got 100,000 Plat and several items for Pick to a guildie after many weeks of AH posts.

I Traded Short Sword for a Pile of High end treasures and Ingreds that would make any Dragon Drool and had many offers from several Sources.
