    Default Rapiers in new area.

Unless I'm very confused, the rapiers I've been given in the newbie zone aren't considered "light," which means my rogue can't dual wield, even though I have the feat. I get the full penalty, though it should be reduced. So that pretty new Ember rapier will have to be discarded as soon as I can find some light weapons. Anyone else having this issue?

All rapiers are considered "heavy" but are finessible.

This is not unique to the Ember rapier.

If you are weilding two rapiers, you will have -4 to hit with both hands (assuming you also have 2 weapon fighting).

If you wish to reduce this to -2/-2, then you must either get the oversized 2 weapon figthing feat, or trade the offhand rapier for a light weapon (dagger, ss, light pick, etc).

Except for one named rapier (fell rapier of Ice), no rapier is considered a "light" weapon for reduced offhand penalties., though they should all be finessable.

Correct. Rapiers are not and have never been light.
