Ranged weapons in new area?

talked to everyone i can find and still cant find any ranged weapons.

I got a Flametouch Longbow from someone./.... Appeared in my INV after the first quest I think.

I also had the semi-flaming LB mysteriously added to my inv. 1st lvl non-elven rogues are really up the creek in the new area, which is unfortunate. I pulled a mw shbow out of a chest, or the various rapiers (at a whopping +0 to hit w/ a 10 str) were my only choice.

It'd be nice (hint, hint, dev's) if a xbow or shbow were among the flaming/lesser mh bane options so that rogues don't get hosed.

At the end of the tutorial (or after skipping it), you get whatever item is set for your class and then a ring of waterbreathing, arrows, and a flaming touch longbow.

i never got a flaming longbow, not that it would do much good for a bard. i would at least like the option to buy a shortbow or xbow somewhere there. no fun trying to fight with a 10 str.

I got given a list to pick from Long bow longsword great axe mace handwarps a wand a rapier from the clr and she gave me armor and shield.

After completing the Cleric's quest, she gave me a Flametouched Longbow and Arrows, which I didn't think much of since I planned on taking Ranger levels anyway.

I chose the Rapiers with my Human Rogue of 16 STR/13 DEX and forgot about my Longbow. A little later on, I deceided to pull it out and got the dreaded "not proficient" exclamation point. I laughed to myself, level up with the Ranger trainer and now I'm good to go!

Now I just need to hit level 3 so I can take Ranger 2 and get Rapid Shot... ROF is so S L O W...

By the way, I solo'd all of the Island content on Normal. Can that be repeated on Hard and Elite, or should I just head over to Stormreach? I'm one rank into level 2.

Yes, the NPE stuff is S/N/H/E selectable. Though, the xp for most of it is so low, if I were you I'd find a group that could skip hard and go straight to elite, and that's just for the favor of it really.

and the Longbow from the Cleric when I finished the very first Quest.

You get a Choice of Flametouched Weapons and Set of equipment
added to your inventory.

Though, I am not sure what kind of ranged weapon every class gets.

I know my barbarian did get a Flametouched bow Though.

every class i ran through it (Rogue, ranger, fighter, barb) all got hte longbow, i think thats set no matter what race/class you are. so is the other stuff, except the armor, which is a docent if your a WF.

I know that bards just get a stack of 20 throwing daggers. I found the lack of a ranged option kind of frustrating on my new Bardbarian. I've run most of the NPE quests on solo and normal and I haven't pulled any missle weapons apart from ammunition and a few thrown weapons.

It would be nice if they provided each class with an ember missle weapon that their class can use. Even adding some normal missle weapons to the general vendor or adding a normal weapon and armor vendor would be a good solution. Casters and Bards I think suffer the worst here.

The lack of light weapons is also a problem. If you are finesse based or use TWF, there are no light weapons available from quest rewards or vendors. This is kind of annoying for the undead quests because if you took the rapier, you don't have a slashing or a bludgeoning weapon. Maybe adding a starter light mace and sickle to the starting equipment like before would work?

The bards also get left out on armor. Bards get the caster robe with Potency I and +1 to concentration. That's not too bad if you take CLW for your first spell, but melee bards will miss the lack of AC. I pulled some MW studded leather quickly this time, but on Risia, I was level 3 before I pulled some light armor.

Maybe they could add a vendor selling normal, bound equipment. If you want to make sure that Korthos has a feeling of scarcity, drop the most expensive items and most of the exotics from the list. You could also have them sell damaged goods at a discount, like the rusty weapons you get from the rogue on the beach.

This would make things much better for some of the classes that got left out and multiclassers as well.
