    Default Intimidate Broken?

Not an accusation, but more of a question.

Last night I was in the Hound, and I was charged with keeping dog aggro. Well, when intimidating the Hound, I was losing 12 points of intimidate with him. I had a 54 intimidate, 59 with skill boost, under my skills page, and when the roll came up is was either 42 or 47 respectively.

Anybody have any idea why this is?

It's the penalty for difference in size categories.

The hound is huge. So -4 for large -4 for huge for -8 if your medium in size or -4 medium -4 large -4 huge for -12 if your small.

I don't know if the original poster was a halfling or not, but you're not implying that the Hound is gargantuan are you?

1 size category under the Tarrasque or Great Wyrm?

Yeah, I'm medium. That's why I'm asking. A -12 tells me something got changed.

Also, I was needing MUCH more than a DC of 50 to control her. It was closer to 60. I know 55 was failing (42 + 13), which is one roll I noticed that failed.

Oh, and I also lost 10 hp with the new mod.

Read the release notes. They changed the toughness enhancements

I've noticed that this penalty has always been there. I've found that the most important job being the intimitank in the middle is to keep the small dogs aggro for when they break charm, so they don't run away or attack the clerics in the middle. I'm sitting at a 42 intimidate, 46 with greater heroism (still looking for a +15 item and a shroud item) and I'm able to handle intimitank duty fine in the middle on normal.

Answers that. I rarely read any of that stuff. Just prefer to complain, and be ignorant.

Still confused about intimidate on Hound though.

Lost HP are from the Toughness Enhancement revamp. Each level is now a flat +10 HP (Both Fighter and Racial). So instead of 5, 10, 15 & 20 for 45 total each line you now gain 10, 10, 10 & 10 for 40 total.

Yeah, the dogs were easy. Never failed with them. Which, yeah, is more important. I didn't really have a problem controlling the center, which is why I'm not really complaining. Just would like to know the reason for such a large penalty.

Like I said though, it seems his DC is higher than the 50 that it used to be. Maybe it's my imagination, but rolls above 50 were failing.

That's pretty much how it's been for at least the last month or so. I'm not saying it was changed then either.... But I only started paying attention about then.

My inimitank is generally running around with either a 51 or 53 inimidate, and the rolls on the big dog have been either 39 or 41. It took me a while to notice, because if any of the little dogs aren't charmed, you only see the dice rolls on the little dogs.

I can verify that this hasn't changed in at least the last month or so.

Now.. I haven't run the hound since the latest update, so I can't comment on what the required values to keep aggro are these days.

Hound has always been a -12 to intimidate (-16 if you are a halfling).

Is there any chance to make the dog's graphic/model larger without introducing lag or other issues? I'd love to walk up to it and feel you're fighting a gar.. ginormous doggie

Oh and can we please have the spells "Mass: Roll Over" and "Mass: Sit" implemented please?

Has to be at least 64 ft long...

Either his graphical representation is wrong... or his classification is.

I just don't see it. Sorry. Velah is gargantuan. The Hound? Not so much. To be completely honest, I thought Huge was a bit of a stretch. I was estimating him as approximately 20 ft long... definately not 64.

I don't see the Hound being 11 humans laying head to toe long.

Agree. The Hound needs to be re-classified as Huge.

Gargantuan is a mistake by direct observation.

Your observations are inccorect due to the Hound's very VERY slimming speckled coat.

Well, I just got out of a hound run (on normal) and the intimidate check is definitely higher. I run at a 59 intimidate on Melisaar and she used to floor the check on normal (1 + 47) pre-Mod 8. Tonight, I was failing on a 56 (4 + 52). Oh, I was Human Versatility boosted, to explain the 52 vs my usual 47.
