Problems hearing others' voice chat

After downloading the new content, I had only one problem, and that was that I was unable to hear anyone else speaking over voice chat. I checked my settings and even re-set them. I logged out and logged back in, but alas, to no avail. I was able to hear sound effects and the DM. I was able to hear music. I just could not hear voice. Some of the people with whom I was grouped could hear me, but, others could not. Was there a server problem on Ghallanda, or, is this a known issue?

I had a similar problem on Ghallanda last night. I could hear the player's voices in my headphones but nothing else. It ended up that the game sounds were being played through my speakers but player voices were in my head (queue Pink Floyd) phones.

There was a drop down box in the options that allowed me to select the playback device (is this is new option? It's near the top of the Audio tab) but the headphones weren't listed. I relogged and they were listed. Changing that dropdown to the headphones fixed the issue.

I have not been able to log since the new Mod as everytime I reach the download updates part my entire computer crashes. However, to your benefit I have been doing a lot of research in the Technical Assistance forum. many people have noted that they needed to open the audio tab and turn down all the settings as the Mod 8 upload had turned them all to max (thus drowning out voice).

When I looged on my sound effects volume was set to max - drown out everything else until I fixed the setting in the options tab.
