Default My compliments to the chef.

I've seen a lot of issue taken with the new update, so I'd like to throw my two coppers in with the opposition. The NPE is excellent, the graphics are better than they used to be (and that was the best of all the games around), the nerf to Rangers (if there was one) was acceptable to mine, I'm pleased with the new area, it looks great, the new quests were well-designed, challenging, look great, and are fun to play. Being able to cast Mass Energy Protections is great.

Well done all the way around, ladies and gentlemen.

I was happy to see a little back story of the first named you kill in the old game, jacoby..

refraining from telling about it, don't want to spoil the fun. I honestly the first intro quest was awesome..

    /And Signed again.

Had a great time last night bringing up my new Wiz, got a great group out on Korthos and was
actually looking at things again. Paying attention to the scenery, thinking that for a new player,
if I had started yesterday instead of 3 months ago, I would have been even more hooked on
    this game.

Great re-working of old quests, really made them stand out.

And Misery's peak is awesome, plain old fashioned fun with great design.

As a caveat, did experience a few buggy things especially trying to form a group
and people could not hop instances to save their lives.

    Thanks!

    Default Whole hearted agreement

Have to say we had a great time last night trying to figure out new content. That whole "wonder what's around that corner" feeling was fantastic...then we hit that gauntlet puzzle in Enter the Kobold and we all just sat down and cried...

We did make it through, dumb luck....

Agreed, I ran the old opening and recorded it with xfire to save for historic purposes. Now I just need to do it with the new area so people can compare. Both my wife and I love the new jump off point and Jacoby's fate was a nice twist. Good to see the low level areas getting a revamp. Nice work folks

    Thumbs up Boo-Ya!

Even with the few teething pains, I'm *EXTREMELY* happy with Module 8. You folks at Turbine did a fantastic job! BTW... how long did it take to model the dungeon for Misery's Peak? Some friends and I couldn't believe how long and complex it was. I'll have to pull out my thesaurus for more positive adjectives. I hope this is a clue as to what we might expect in future content expansions!

If the same care and effort in the next mod is put into high level content that was done with the low level content in this mod, I am very, very excited and that's enough to hold me over. I get the rationale for needing to update the lowbie stuff, and the final product was fantastic! Nice work!

Now, as far as the QA on the release (such as the items being fixed in the hotfix), not so good...but assuming the hotfix takes care of it that's just a few hours of issue...not the end of the world.

I reactivated my account to check out mod 8, no i didn't quit because i was bored it was because my school's network doesn't let me play

I went home sick last night and was bored, called an old DDO buddy of mine and he told me that it looks good so far from what he's heard. So i decided to fire it up on my old machine and I must say I'm impressed

this computer is an Athlon 4400+ with a Geforce7600 so i wasnt able to enjoy the DX10 graphics but I can't wait to see what it looks like on my better machine!

Keep up the good work Turbine, this game can only get better and better

Aside from the CRAZY number of bugs and assorted issues, this is a pretty fun mod imo.

as always, the new explorer areas are some of the coolest outdoor adventure scenarios to be found in ANY game, not just mmo's. They simply are so good looking, it makes my head spin wondering at the art department:

1: we have hands down the prettiest scenery of any online game EVER

2: but we also have the ugliest, non matching characters and armor... doesnt match lol.

I say we put whatever person is in charge of explorer area in a position to veto armor skins!!! lol

realy though, had alot of fun yesterday and alot of frustration playing new stuff. And i am excited as heck to get some dragon armor!

I am running non DX10 and I am impressed with the new areas. I keep hearing "wow, that looks amazing" from guildies. It looks pretty good to me too. The details are awesome. The weather effects are neat. Love the new web graphic.

And the first thing I noticed different was the sound. At first, it seemed like it wasn't working at all. Then I changed the setting from hardware to software and WOW. There is more depth to the sound. I notice more little things. Was there a change or am I just imagining a difference? I think I might have to set up the 2 rear surrounds now to really check it out.

Great work on the new mod. I haven't checked out the new quests yet, but the explorer areas are very cool.

Are there issues post-update? Yes. Are some folks upset with nerfs, etc.? Yes. Am I mad that they deleted my starter gear? Yes. Are we hoping that the lag will get better? (or worse maybe?) Yes.

All of the negative stuff aside, the NPE areas and the new high-level stuff are pretty darned cool. I look forward to spending more time running in both areas. Nice work!
