feel your pain, bro. Two nights ago i had a stick of ram decide it didn't want to function anymore after 2 years of solid performance.
Vista on 1gb is torture.
Instead of replacing it i have just gone ahead and ordered a whole new batch of parts, upgrade time when newegg delivers.READ ME NEW PLAYERS!!!
