    Default Post Cap development

Timing is terrible, as we are just about to get a new mod, but I've been thinking about it, so I thought I'd contribute...

I have been feeling that there needs to be something constructive for capped players to do. Crafting was a great addition, and does create an objective players can go after even after they are capped. However I can't help but feel that anytime I run a capped character I am wasting time and energy that could be spent on leveling other guys. (I have 3 accounts, so I have lots of guys.) Yes, I realize this a weird neurosis, but I don't think I am the only one who has it.

Soooo what I would *love* to see would be a system that translated post-cap XP into something useful. Other types of goods, or account specific benefits, or guild benefits, or familiars/minions/etc.

    Just a thought.

I too find it a bit of a waste of time, but only because of the XP loss. I am getting plenty of loot to pass down and a nice bank account growing that funds further adventures and keeps the youngins happy.

It's not all bad and I have often only run my capped characters for Raids and the occasional loot run, mostly I try to level my lowers and grow into the gear I have picked up for them along the way. Hard to really suggest how you could translate the lost XP though.
Familiars are a nice idea but not every class should have them so we're catering to a select group not really solving the problem....

Emm... familair and animal companions that you could craft stuff for, make them stronger.

Kind of like doing augmented summoning. I mean our summoned monsters are freaking wimps compared to the standard version of the mob we face.

Actually when you are capped you stop getting XP, it says rewarded upon completion but the quest doesn't show that you ran it again. So your not really wasting XP.

    Default Except

Except for the bonus you get for running it the first time. You do lose that on any difficulty you ran while capped.

I like the idea about having familiars. But honestly, keep familiars with Wizards/Sorceres, and have animal companions for the Rangers, etc. Give us a chance to give them a name (Drizzt & Guen come to mind) and let us level them up. With my ranger, I'll summon a Razor Cat and run lowbie stuff and it's a lot of fun, and I'll get some favor while I'm at it.

Take that idea and make it part of leveling up a character. I think it would add value to the game and also be a good comparison for Hirelings as well.

    Default Idea

I used to play Maple Story didnt really get that much into it really, but one of the features that intrigued me is the favor sistem there(can't recall if that was what it was called).

The point of that favor was that it was given by the player base.
So imagine that in the focus orb you would have another button to give that "gamer favor" or instead of giving it taking it away, so you could have negative favor (for bad play style or any other reason) and that it would show up in your bio when you examine said player.

The more "gamer favor" you have you can get npc's rewards for like I don't know
like another bank slot, better prices at brokers and/or guild housing if you are a guild leader (just saying).

If you have negative favor maybe some other things.

It's just an idea and I know it might be very user abusable (guild leader has all his guildies give him the favor) but roleplayers I think would like it. Maybe even trade it for Money.

Again just throwing something out there.

Hurray! Next to a fixed ranged combat system this is the number 1 thing I want.
