By Developer, are you implying that you work in the game industry? If so, i'm curious to the use of the term Software lifecycle in reference to an MMORPG.
After reading all your posts in this thread, I felt obligated to respond to it.
I currently work in the games industry for a major publisher. In the future please dont validate your opinions by saying your a "Developer". While to you this might be a harmless lie to give credit to your argument, it implies that your an active participant in the games industry. Time to get your facts in order.
Case and Point:

Please, send me a pm and Ill be happy to explain the process of making a commercial game from Pre-Production to Ship, so the next time you regurgitate ignorant guild chat youll know better.

Fact: If DDO were not profitable or projected to be profitable, DDO would end. Just maintaining an MMORPG is expensive. Every content update requires modeling, rigging, texturing, scripting and engineering resources. These resources are expensive. The gritty truth is that companies dont make games because they like making people happy. Companies make games to turn a profit.
If New Content is being added, then DDO is turning a profit or projected to be profitable.
So in truth, DDO is expanding, growing. attempting to attract new subscribers...
The only thing i hope perishes here in the coming months is the attitude you displayed in your post.
