Default Sighs DCed and booted from Titan again

I have the occassional problem with my isp dropping me and have had problems with the occassional quest where it boots me back to a puclic instance. This usually is just a mild irritant but in the case of Titan I can not even try to get back to the quest. I understand that they did this as a measure to prevent cheats but can we at least get something in place so that if you disconnect in the titan you either are not autobooted to the foothold or be able to petition someone to get reentry if the quest has not ended. I mean if they can track my tells and other logs then they should be able to see if my character was in the quest at any time. *rant off*

Being booted from instance is not automatic. I've DCed for long minutes in the Titan (2nd part) and was able to log back in just fine. Same in Shroud.
Just mentioning it because to me it sounds more like a bug than an intended feature.

Make sure you're fully link dead before rebooting....

Have seen something very similar in Shroud runs...As long as we let the guy know (via vent) he's completely link dead before he tries to come back in he reconnects in the Shroud. If he locks up and drops the connection without waiting to be completely LD he reappears in the Harbor.

How do you know if when to zone back in, if you're the guy dropping? (Without vent?) Any ideas?

wait for the "the connection to the server is lost" message to pop up
If you want to know why...

    Just another data point...

My wife's computer died in Shroud Part 4 - completely froze up, had to use the power button to restart. It then refused to fully log into the game. Ended up starting the game up on another computer, logged in and she was back in the quest.

Strange that even something as severe as switching computers can still result in you getting back into the quest.

Try to figure out how long it takes for the server to disconnect you. My guess is it has a set time limit, so with a few tests with a friend you could find it.

Without Vent I'd say to lock the internet connection from your Firewall. That should completely cut the connection between you and Turbine providing a clean disconnect.
