Had this problem for a while now. It only occurs when I'm running DDO.
For no definitive reason (it happens at seemingly random times - no pattern that I can see) the mouse pointer will turn black. It retains the shapes it should be or turn to in game depending on what you're doing, but it's just a flat black....cutout...of the shape.
Once this happens, my sistray is the next to go. (I've tried running in full screen - still happens...just don't notice the rest). Then the start button. Then the rest of the task bar and the title bar of the program. If I don't get a reboot in there somewhere, the screen will freeze and require a reboot anyway. Not to mention there are lots of places for the cursor to disappear to when it's black, can't tell where it is...annoying.
Anyone else had this happen? Want to hazard a guess as to why this happens...or even a solution? I've looked all over and cannot find any posts or articles anywhere that sounds close to this problem.
Here's some info on my system. I can post the entire dxdiag file if that will help, just ask. Open to any suggestion past "Get a new system." I know I need a new system, just trying to make this one hang on til I can do that.
Note on the vid driver - prior to my recent format, I had the 93.71 drivers from nVidia. After the format I tried the 93.81 beta drivers. Had the same problem with both.
