....Sounds like either a bad IE addon or some malware.

try loading IE and before you browse anywhere, go to Tools->Manage Addons and try disabling anything that looks strange or you might not need. Once IE starts working again, enable addons one at a time until it starts crashing again.

If you have the IE crash log then it might also point at the specific DLL that's causing the problem - do you get the 'send error report to microsoft' button - if so click 'details' and paste in the information (in a code block)
