Evasion, regardless of if you gained it as a monk, rogue, or ranger, will work in light armor.

No wonder the Devs haven't been saying much on the forums. The ninjas have taken over the place. Let's get some pirates in here to clear them out
Freeman - Human Bard - Thelanis Fulfilling my duty to the ladies of Stormreach
Yuvben(Halfling Rogue), Acana(Drow Sorcerer), Walket(Human Cleric), Mahoukami (WF Wizard), Knicapper(Horc Fighter), Pyetr(Human Bard), Mazinger (WF Barb), and Belcar(Halfling Ranger).

    Default Even better question

If I have Evasion on my Ranger, and then pick up a class that gets evasion at 2nd level, does it become improved evasion as in the PnP game?

^^ As far as I know, it doesn't. And this is mainly due to DDO's free multi-classing without penalties - there has to be some some sort of drawback.
    Otherwise, everyone and their grandmother would be a Monk2 / Rogue2 / <insert other class here>.

Oh wait, they already are :/

Doesn't work that way in PnP either.
