    Default Docents and Armor Bracers

Does anyone have incites on the stackability of armor bracers and docents? Bracers are typed as armor bonuses and docents are typed as enhancement bonuses, so I figured they would stack. When I combined "Black Widow Bracers" and a +2 docent the AC did not change. The toon has composite plating and any combo of its bracers and docent yelds the same AC. Does anyone have a higher level WF with composite plating, wearing non-widow AC bracers and can tell me if AC enhancement docents stack?

A Warforged's plating (composite, mithril, and adamantine) are Armor bonuses.

A docent is an enhancement bonus to the Warforged's plating (much like a +3 chain shirt has an enhanced Armor Bonus, enhanced by 3). This boosts the Armor bonus of your worn armor (or plating in this case) and only your armor.

Armored Bracers are also an Armor bonus. This is a different source of Armor bonus and thus doesn't stack with your worn armor (or plating).

Nope, dont think so. The "+"1-5 from the docent is an armor bonus, same as "armor" bracers. Kinda sucks that Wf have less ways of getting a good armor class than any other race in the game. Even though they were created for combat. Just dont make sense.

    Default Thanks Cow

Thank you MrCow. I will adjust to this minor set back and the master race will forge ahead.

It's no set back. With composite plating, and a +5 docent, you'll get a +7 armor bonus. That's the same as +7 bracers, easily obtained at level 8!

I don't know about you, but playing DDO for some 40 hours a week for 2 and a half years has yielded me zero +7 armor bracers!

Default Chaos Guard Bracers do stack

Here is what I have found for producing moderate ac warforged.

For bracers - Find or buy Chaos Gaurd - +2 AC ( dodge) & and additioanl +2 against chaotically aligned apponenets ( havent been able to verify that part is working)

Protection items - You can only use one at a time

Armor mastery feats- These help with useable dexterity bonus

If your preference is to TWF or THF cast a Shield spell and this will pick up a +4 bonus. It doesnt seem like the Mage armor works with the Warforged.

Mage Armor, being a source of Armor bonus AC, will help if you are in Composite Body and have a plain docent, masterwork docent, or +1 docent (as all those combinations make less than 4 Armor bonus AC).

No. Weapon Finesse requires a +1 Base Attack Bonus, so your starting stats have nothing to do with it. Neither wizards nor rogues get a +1 BAB until level two. You would be able to take it for your level three feat.

    Talking Bad, bad me.

I meant to post TWF. I plan to take both these feats and am trying to both point crunch and work them in as early as possible. I think the prereq for TWF is dex 15. If so can I respec at 1st level after eating a tome to increase the dex from 14 to 15, as outlined above?

    Sorry for the confusion.
