Definetaly dropping it tonight. I will generally have the buff in a small group so it should not be an issue. I will probably use a combo of Heightened Hypno, FOD and PK.

Has anyone tried Fear wands on the ellies?

i dumped dancing ball ages ago on my sorc (for waves of exhaustion which is an excellent debuff for all red/purple names). Generally the pk/fod combo takes care of all the ele's without much problem (i have enlarge so i can get them at a distance). The only thing that interfers is when some other caster throws up a bunch of dancing balls which makes it more difficult to see said ele's.

Also, heightened web is a good replacement for dancing ball if you will also be running shroud.

Fear wands tend to not work well. Every once in a while I can get one to work but I wouldn't have a group depend on it.

The named tap helmet from the necro does work occasionally though.

When I'm in the mood to kill very fast I'll do a quick fireball and CoC combo, or toss a finger & disintegrate combo. Coupled with my heightened hypnotism, I don't need disco ball.

Having said that, I still like dancing ball, it's a great spell in many instances. I waves from scrolls just fine. So in the reaver I'll toss 1 ball in front of the melee, and 1 or 2 in front of the caster area, and then relax.

As for anyone telling me to not cast a dancing ball, sure, go ahead. I have no issues going to the back and afking for a bit, or hitting teleport if it seems like it's not going well now that they no longer have an arcane casting anything at all.

apparently big changes coming to Elementals in the next Mod for this quest. Enervation is going to be key, and Dancing ball may be an option (with mind fog) for some hardness levels.
