GoP runs are pretty easy if you don't care about the shield piece chest, only takes a few minutes to get a chance to grab a cloak or Atonement.

Just checking to see how you all are progressing on the Abbott. We tried a few runs last night and I think Balto survived one of them but we still failed at one or more of the puzzles so it was for naught. The Abbott certainly hits hard and it did not help that I had to take off my +6 con item to get wisdom up that dropped me down like 48 hp so one freezing sphere and I am dead.

Well, last week we didn't get together because some folks couldn't make it. Technically, we're a full group, but it's hard to get all 12 people together. I'd say if you are interested, stop on by the Necropolis tavern at 9pm Eastern tomorrow and we'll fit you in if at all possible!

In terms of how it's going....well, we're learning our way through the puzzles and working on strategy. We've had quite a few people explain how other groups have completed the raid, but it generally involves strategies that I'm not interested in using, some things I probably shouldn't expound on in the forums here. After all, the goal here is to beat it "regular". I'd say we're making progress, but it'll definitely be a challenge. I've been having a good time running this, though, and I think others have had fun being there too.

unfortunately this thursday i will be busy too :/. Actually, ever thursday until this quarter is over since my group in one of my classes moved meetings to after thursday night class which is at 8pm eastern (5pm pacific). If the server thing goes as planned today (fingers crossed) I will try to finish flagging my cleric for the raid tonight. It will be tough though I still need about half the sigil pieces and the pre-raid. I feel with her stats she is much better suited to the raid so if you see Rudadonna hanging out at the seedy tavern near the graveyard and you need an extra cleric shoot her a tell, otherwise Balto is ready and with some slight equipment adjustments should have a better time in there, so one or the other will be available if you find yourselves an adventurer short.

Hi everyone - okay, so I've decided to finally take down the abbot. Why? Why not! C'mon, you know you want to!

What I'll be doing is creating a static group that will meet on Thursday nights with the goal of learning the raid as a group, practicing and then winning! The tentative start time for this will be 9pm Eastern time. The first official gathering will be on October 9th, where we'll discuss tactics, practice puzzles and get a better sense of the group.

The goal is to do this for like two hours per night, although we can cut out a bit earlier if that's preferred.

So far, here's the list:

5. Ravenite
6. Allectus
7. Oxvon - 16th Sorc, Oxbot - 16th Bar

I expect everyone in the group to become self-reliant. One of the big stumbling blocks I've experienced repeatedly in this raid is the fact that the quells tend to prevent casters from casting and the rest of the group is not prepared to deal with their own self-buffs, especially when it comes to the fiery inferno.

Puzzles will of course be the other challenge.

I figure each player will want to have stacks of protection from fire, fire resistance (potion-item), haste potions (for the asteroid room if nothing else) and healing potions (lots of them). We'll work to make our group a lean, mean, self-reliant abbot-killing machine!
