You should also consider running a lottery of the type Impaqt did within IFV for his w/p rapier.

Set a "ticket" price of say 1M plat and define equivalents to that:

- 1M plat is worth 1M plat obviously
- N lg ingredients
- 2 +2 tomes might be valued at 1M
- Greaves perhaps with some additional plat to equal 1M.
- Scourge choker has been discussed to be worth 1M (maybe more)
- etc

And then see if 11 people would each put in the 1M equivalent for a 1/11 chance for the rapier.

The mechanic being obvious: you assign a number to each entrant, and at an agreed upon time you join a raid party with every entrant or their single designated stand-in if they're unable to make the agreed-upon time. You roll 1d11 in the party window, and that ticket holder gets the rapier.

Since even our most rich participants here on this thread wouldn't put up 11M plat equivalent offers, if 11 are willing to each put up 1M offers for the 9.09% chance you'd come out ahead.

For someone who couldn't have otherwise bid, I know participating in Impaqts was hella fun.

I just wouldn't feel right doing a lottery. I don't want someone to give me something and not get anything in return except a chance at something else.

Anyways, so many people have said "any blank/small/medium" you need that it was becoming hard for me to compare offers. I PM'd everyone who had PM'd me by the time I left class today. Here is a list of all blank, small, medium, and collectibles I need. If you have made and offer or are planning to make an offer, I really don't "need" more than these but will take them for future use. However, for purposes of comparing offers, I am looking at the things above these (the blank/small/med). If you don't have all the blank/small/medium I need, that is not a problem. I can take that into account when comparing the offers. The larges and other items are a bigger deal to me than those, I just don't want to have all my larges and have to grind out a ton of blanks and smalls to use them.

Husk - 6

Small:
Arrow - 4
Scales - 4
Shrapnel - 5

I am also willing to accept other items so long as I don't end up with a lot of stuff I don't need and would have to spend a lot of time trading/selling to get what I do need. I will PM everyone who has PM'd me tonight and will make my final decision by 5 pm EST to be fair to everyone and not hold anyone up.

I agree that this can be a very good idea. It looks to give the "less fortunate" an opportunity at the riches of the realm. I might have to do this within guild, myself.

When it was done in-guild it was indeed a higher number / lower entry. But not everyone was in-party then to see the roll. So that works in guild where everyone partipating trusts those in party to not be colluding. But I wouldn't want any questions raised about the process otherwise. So my thought was just if I were participating or running it for non-guild folks, I'd want to limit it to 11 so that everyone can see the roll in the raid party window versus soon but second-hand in guild chat or Ventrilo, etc. Also it gets harder to coordinate the more folks involved too: again less an issue in-guild but coordinating 11 non-guild folks for this would be hard enough.

So fun though, I know I was happy to give some ingred away for my 5% chance at one!
