We need more outfits !

Yes, there should be a lot more outfits. Many of them should be based not on real-world shaolin monks, but on the kinds of clothing unarmored combatants wear in the D&D Player's Handbook and other books (especially Ember the sample iconic monk).

In addition, a suggestion I gave to the devs long long ago would still be a good idea:
Each character has a "robestyle" variable they can set by typing a command.

Robestyle 1 means all robes look like they do now.
Robestyle 2 means robes look they do now, except that books, scrolls, and bottles are elminated.
Robestyle 3 means the robe is the same fabric and accents tailored in a different and more althletic design, probably with the skirt changed into loose trousers.
Robestyle 0 (the default) means the effect of 1,2, or 3 is automatically chosen by comparing which of your ability scores is the highest: S3, D3, Co2, I1, W1, Ch2

That change would have meant monks could look like monks, even when wearing a pre-existing named robe (such as the White Dragon Robe, which instead loads him down with scroll cases that a monk can't use)

While it is not my fave it is actually kind of cool until you Barkskin it

But when it is 25% of the total possible outfit looks, it is going to get more negative attention than it probably deserves.

Well, were also getting to the point of needing more european/middle eastern style outfits as well. I have 2 rangers that could be wearing robes but don't for cosmetic reasons. The PHB and Eberron books have a ton of art resources for this.

Typical women, come in and change everything! make it all frilly and such. Bah I like my 3-5 choices who needs more anyways? i got 2 pair of shoes ( tennis shoes and dress) 7-10 shirts and one style of blue jeans 1 suit that works for all dress occasions (wedding- funreals) nuff said!

I don't think there should be any new outfits till we get a few more docent graphics added to the game. I think the last time there was any new docent looks added, outside of very few named ones, was in the DQ mod... way too long, in other words.

Speaking from experience, no outfit lends the mobility feat in real life like a nice pair of faux-paintsplattered hammer pants. Imagine the 'fascinate' score for a set of those.

Funny you should mention the named docents. Except for titanic (which is actually only different on composite body) and dragonscale docents, they all look exactly the same. A few of them aren't that ugly light rosy pink, but the different color ones have the exact same graphic.

After some reflection, I've decided I like the stick outfit after all. When you're barkskinned, you look like one of these:
