I just bought a new computer, and I would like to know if it's faster to obtain a full version download from the site or if it's faster to install using the CD and download all the updates. Thanks in advance for anybody with advice!

either may be the viable depending on your download speed.
The fastest method is to save all the *.dat files from the updated DDO directory of your old computer to something portable, such as a flash drive or DVD. Then on the new computer, install DDO from the disk, and copy the newer *.dat files over the older ones. It will still update a little, but we're talking a couple of minutes versus hours. If you don't have access to the updated *.dat files anymore, then it really is hard to tell which would be faster. Both of the other methods would take quite some time though.
