    Default Need some advice...

My Battlebard (12 bard/4 fighter) got his 40th shroud completion. All 6 possible +3 tomes dropped. I've got two tier three pieces of equipement, don't need another, so the clensing item I am not considering.

Now the tough decision, which tome?

    +3 Str, +3 Con or +3 Chr?

    I'm currently at:
    26 Str (use stunning blow)
    22 Con, 346 HP
    30 Chr, 847 SP

I can use the human greater adaptability enhancement to get to 28 str or 24 con with a +3 tome.

Taking the +3 chr tome would give me a 31, but would position me to have a 32 at lvl 20.

I cannot make up my mind. Which one would you take?

    Thx!

I'd say go with either Strength or Con for now, since you'll get the most benefit out of them in the current game. While planning for the future is always nice, I don't think it is necessary in this case. For all we know, +3 tomes could start dropping as unbound loot when they raise the cap to 20, making it much easier to get them.

Oh, and I hate you as well. I just got my first ever +3 tome last week, from my rogue's 20th Reaver run. You gotta love adding +3 Strength on my 10 base Strength TWF Halfling rogue
Freeman - Human Bard - Thelanis Fulfilling my duty to the ladies of Stormreach
Yuvben(Halfling Rogue), Acana(Drow Sorcerer), Walket(Human Cleric), Mahoukami (WF Wizard), Knicapper(Horc Fighter), Pyetr(Human Bard), Mazinger (WF Barb), and Belcar(Halfling Ranger).

If this guy is also your haggle bot, you may want to consider the charisma tome to raise your barter/umd. Otherwise the Str or Con tome would be better. Prol go str. OH, and I hate you too.

I'd go with str or con as any gain from the cha tome is signficantly delayed in it's effect and there may be +4 tomes around by that time.

    Immediate gains:

    +16 hp, +1 fort saves....

+1 to hit/damage/dc for your stunning blow

Are you having any trouble hitting or stunning things (Luv them bard buffs)? If not, I'd go with con.

Oh, and I don't hate you!

Unless of course he's dead. Very hard to simulate anything if you're dead.

Self healing is great, IF you can get the spell off without being interrupted.

For example....I like to hit Harry...Which is bad, cause he likes to hit me back. Trying to face off against him with my Cleric-Stein (350 HP) is where I really notice being below 400 HP. If it wasn't for self cast Quickened Heals I would've die more times than I can count...Doesn't take much, just two or three bad rolls.

I'd go with Str. You would probably get the most use out of that. Haven't noticed you dying much on Harry, so I think the extra hitpoints are less valuable. As for the Cha, well, you'll have plenty more shots at +3 or better tomes by the time we reach level 20 - get something you can use now.

*lol* I have friends who though like that...Perhaps they also suffer random lag spikes, because most of them have kids now.

Don't get me wrong...I'm a big fan of pulling out when I'm getting smashed. It just doesn't always work. And when things go south I like having extra the extra HP buffer.
