    Default Kab 1.0 (Intim Tank)

This is a VERY old build, still extremely Viable in today's end game content.

    Updated 12/7/2009

Max AC Buffed @ Level 19 (Same at 20):

Buffs I had on me during the screen shot above:

    Standing Unbuffed AC: 74(78 Blocking)

    Fully Buffed AC: 84(88 Blocking)

    AC Breakdown (Standing Unbuffed 74):

    10 Base
    +6 Dex Bonus
    +15 Armor Bonus
    +9 Shield Bonus
    +4 Natural Armor Bonus
    +5 Deflection Bonus
    +10 Dodge Bonus
    +6 Misc Bonus
    +8 Feat Bonus
    ----------------
    74 Total

    AC Breakdown (Fully Buffed 84):

    10 Base
    +6 Dex Bonus
    +15 Armor Bonus
    +9 Shield Bonus
    +5 Natural Armor Bonus
    +5 Deflection Bonus
    +15 Dodge Bonus
    +11 Misc Bonus
    +8 Feat Bonus
    ----------------
    84 Total

The Extra 10 Comes from Recitation, Bard Inspire Heroics, Haste, and a point or two from a Pally standing by.

    38 Blocking DR

HP Total 607 While in Stalwart Defender Mode

Intimidate Total 67 (69 with bard buffs)

    Saves Buffed Out: 41/33/28

I stuck tumble into the build for Stalwart Defender mode, so I can move a bit faster while in it.

What's the point of this build you may ask? Given the new found love for Intim in the game, I wanted a character that could capitalize on that. As we all know, with intim going, you are going to get hit, so the next logical choice was AC, then HP. I didn't want to sacrifice too much in the way of HP, to get the crazy high AC's that you can get, so I hit a middle road, with 607 base, and a 74 Unbuffed AC. The pic above I was pretty decked out with group buffs. I also read alot about dumping Strength a bit lower. I didn't want to go that route, so kept the 32, while still being very viable for average DPS, I can fill the roll of turtle tank at any given point if things get a little hectic. I took two handed fighting as a feat to fit my DPS roll when needed. I have to say I love the build, if there was anything I'd have done different, it would be to get Force of Personality, and leave Wisdom as a complete dump stat.

I can intim every raid boss on normal, with a roll of a 1 (Except Hound, 2 or higher) I can get the hound on a 1 with bard buffs. Epic DQ is a little different, get her about 35-40% of the time.

Below is the Now FINAL Kab 1.0 Build given for Re-Creation Purposes.

The last pieces to the puzzle I'm missing are:
+3 CHA Tome (To get Force of Personality, increases will save by 4 more points) I'd remove Improved Critical Slashing for this.

    Main Equip Currently: (Updated 12/7/2009)
Chaos Guarde Bracers (+2 Dodge Bonus to AC)
Gyroscopic Boots of Striding (Titan Boots 30% Striding, Balance +10)
    +6 Dex Gloves
Belt of Brute Strength (Str +6, Greater False Life)
Green Steal Cloak with 45 HP, Heavy Fort, Prot 5
Kilau's Necklace (Con +6, Balance +15)....This will change to Stalwart Knecklace when I get the combo from ToD
Head of Good Fortune (With +1 Resistance Ritual On It)
    +15 Intim Helm
Greensteel Goggles (Air/Air/Air) +6 Cha Skills, Haste 3 Clickies, Chance for Knock Down/30 Sec Haste on getting hit.
Chattering Ring (+3 Dodge Bonus to AC)
Thamor's Ring (Cha +6, Exceptional Con +1 Stat)
DragonTouched Armor (+4 Nat Armor Bonus, Resistance +5, Spell Resistance 22, Alchemical Armor Ritual +1)
Levik's Defender (Hound Tower Shield W/Shield Ritual Performed +1 AC)
Mineral II Dwarven Greensteel Axe (W/Force Ritual Performed)

    Swap Outs:
Tharnes Goggles (True Seeing/Backstab +5 etc..)
    Ring of Djinn
Silver Flame Talisman (No Negative Levels)
    Golden Greaves
    Madstone Boots
    Boots of Anchoring
    Bat (Feather Fall)
    Bloodstone
    Planar Gird (GH)
    Morah's Belt (Jump Clickie)
    Bubble Belt (Underwater Action)
Visor Flesh Render Guard (Death Ward)
Int 6 Goggles (Wiz King )
    Solid Fog Bracers (ToD Kiting)

Resists I use level 11 wands for.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this guy.

I've gone Stalwart Defender II, which got me quite a bit more Intim, AC, and HP.

Not bad. The only thing these intimidate gurus will tell you is your will save in particular is on the low end and also evasion would be pretty nice. The thing I will tell you is where is your mineral II greataxe or at the very least a transmuting greater evil outsider offhand weapon for the shroud. Have a dps mode in addition to your sword and board mode.

i would like to know your reasoning behind 13/3 fighter pally, instead of say 12/4 or even something different.

3 pally gives LoH enhancement, as well as save/AC aura enhancements.

4 pally gives you clicky-quality Divine Favor. Simply no reason to go into pally further unless you plan to take pally6... pally5 if you really like Divine Sacrifice.

While odd fighter levels currently do nothing, staying close-to-pure-classed might eventually yield better enhancements. That's why my tank is 13fighter/3pally at least.

Agreed, a higher DPS weapon is needed for Arretrikos. I crit around 130's with the mineral II one handed. I usually wear the goggles in there to help with sneak attacks etc. I dual wield greater construct bane on the portals. Vorpal sword and board for part II beginning, and mineral II sword and board for 1 of the mobs. I either intim the gnoll/orthon/devil to keep them away from the main party...can solo the cat pretty easy.

As far as the 3 pally levels, the previous poster is correct, I didn't see the need to go any further with it, I got all I wanted out of them by level 3, and fighters just get way way more feats to play with.

The will I'm aware of, its why I wanted force of personality, and its the main change I'm making in Kab 2.0. Still, a 28 if I can get the tome isn't to shabby...37/29/28 for saves. Evasion...is for sissies muahaha...no, seriously, I wouldn't be able to get the AC I wanted and have evasion, just wouldn't happen... Thanks for the comments guys.

I dont much about the high level items but I didnt see any heavy fort item. Do you have one, or think you dont need it?

With high AC it seems that the mod fort from the head can provide decent protection. You will still get the odd power hit but its not like hes getting hit as often as other builds.

Heavy fort would be ideal but not fully required depending on how long he can keep his AC that high.

Heavy fort is on the full plate of the defender, you should see I have it in the image I posted Before I got the heavy fort, the head of good fortune worked well enough with the moderate fort.

I had originally stated and must have deleted, that image with ac is fully decked out with buffs, I think I can pull 2 more ac with one other buff in it.

My average self buffed ACis 64..

Thanks, I have a level 12 intimitank and am starting to try to decide what items i should be looking for fo r when i approach end game. My build is based heavily off of Riot's build but has a few more offensive feats like trip and cleave.

    Default IntimTank Blueprint Request

I just started playing about 3 weeks ago and I would like to build a "Intimitank". I played WoW with a tank 2 years ago, but I like the DDO concept and graphics much better. I have started to read the forum and I am looking for suggestions and blueprints. I somewhat familiar with pen and paper DnD. I have a level 11 and 7 Fighter. neither is built correctly, still learning. I will probably play 4 more characters types and the 2 tanks to lvl 16 to get the six +2 tomes (and to get to know the other classes). With all of this in mind can you suggest a build? The Fighter 12-13 / Paladin 4-3 build seems to be popular some are human some dwarf. High Intimidate(highest priority)/High AC/High Damage Reduction/magic item use/DPS in that order. If that mixture is contradicting, please explain. Do you have the Kab 2.0 blueprint out yet? Again I'll have 6 +2 Tomes the 32 pt 1750 build availiable by the time I get the six +2 Tomes. Thanks for your time

While I don't have any real Intimitank advice for you (only just started a Fighter - usually play a Ranger type), the +2 tomes you get for hitting 1750 favor are bound to that character. You can't bank them for another character to use.

That's not to say you won't loot the 6 +2 tomes...

    Default +2 Tomes

Thanks I didn't know that. I hope they drop for me while I get 6 character to lvl 16

    I scrapped Kab 2.0, after Mod 8 came out. I re-built as Kab 3.0

You should be able to get the +2 tomes necessary by the time you level all those toons.

My girl is currrently rolling Kab 3.0. She has him at level 14 and is loving him. My priority was to get an even higher intim, without sacraficing too much. I moved away from the higher strength for damage, reduced con a little bit as the 400 hp on 1.0 was more than enough, and went towards a stat damager type. I'm sure I'll get grief for spreading too thin on feats to improve crit range, but felt it necessary if I truly want to fit the roll of a stat damager, then I'd need to increase the ranges on bludgeon, pierce, and slash.

Kab 3.0 for recreation purposes, the only tome you need to begin is INT

    @ Kab 3.0 build

    Only splash 2 Paladin level.
3rd Paladin level is not worth missing out Kensai III.

If you might thing otherwise switch out the 13th Fighter level (is has reallynothing good to offer) for 1 level of Rogue.
Get yourself a nice skillpoints boost, occcasional sneak attack damage and be able to max out UMD, a great synergy with your already good CHA.
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)
