Question Returning To The Game - 28pt Fighter Build?

    Hey all....

Coming back to the game after being gone for quite a while. I've played enough to get the Drow back.. but no 1750 favor. I'm not satisified with my current character, so I'm looking to go back to what I loved.

I loooooved playing my fighter back in the day, but alot has changed. So I'm requesting a bit of help! The only constraint I have is no multi-classing. I would prefer to play a pure fighter.

Anyone have ideas/suggestions to help an old dog out?

Looking for a 28pt pure fighter build that would be viable to be a tank for all situations.... at least until I get 1750 favor again I remember intimidate was high on my skills list... so I'd imagine that would be there still?

Any help given is greatly appreciated!

    Good question....

I used to play sword and board, but I'm open to ideas.

Basically I would like to be hard hitting tank that holds agro and doesn't cost the cleric an arm and a leg in mana to keep alive.... if that's possible in today's game.

    Default hey

well ur basic fighter build would be something like this.

    max str

    decent dex 14-16

    good con 14-16

int optional 12-13 ( this is for combat expertise 13 is need but u can go 12, an a +1 tome, this alows u to get into a stance which grants +5 ac, but at the cost of -5 to hit bonus, good option for turtleing up, an intim.)

wis is a dump stat after u r happy with the above put the rest of pionts into wis to help with will saves,( for being held etc)

good skill pionts for fighters to use, intim, jump, balance an tumble.

feats that r fun, toughness, power attack, all fighters specail feats, weapon focus, spec. imp crit, cleave, an great cleave r a lot of fun to.

    hope this helps.

    Ok - I have a something started...

I think I'm going to head down the path of Two Weapon Fighting with a taste of Sword & Board. I'm hoping I can versatile either way. Any thoughts?

    Human Fighter - Neutral Good - 28pts

    STR 16
    DEX 15
    CON 10
    INT 14
    WIS 10
    CHA 8

    Starting Skill Points - 20
    Intimidate 4
    Jump 4
    Balance 4 (2)
    Tumble 4 (2)
    UMD 4 (2)

Is UMD worth taking here or should I put these points somewhere else?

    Feats - 3
    - Combat Expertise
    - Dodge
    - Toughness

Should I be taking other feats this early on?

I think maybe a 10 CON would be less than ideal? especially for a main tank?

I wonder if that isn't too much INT? Or WIS? Or both?

Ya, I would drop INT to 13 (you still get CE)...lose the UMD (unless you want to be multi rogue..it's just so hard to get it decent). Maybe drop the dex one, and go with a 14 con. You can get a +6 dex item to make up for it. Up to you but I would focus on Intimi/balance/jump..then whatever you can spare into tumble.

The feats are decent (you will get more than 3 tho).

Suggestions only..your guy, and your fun

    Welcome back!!
