    Default Friendly fire question

Still new here. I'm looking at either a sorc or wiz build. I was browsing through the spells and noted that (I think) only one fog spell on wiki mentioned the spell also affected friendlies. Is this true for all fogs? Is it a safe bet AoEs affect friendlies or not? Any rule of thumb/

    TIA

All fog spells affect teammates in that it makes it harder for the player to see the game world (although that has been reduced from DDO's release, when any fog was 100% blinding). Some players with older graphics harder can suffer degeneratively bad overload from a few fogs.

Aside from that, fogs don't impair teammates, but slippery ground might, such as from Grease or Sleet Storm.

Well, that is the sort of thing I am wondering.

For example: Acid Fog. This will affetc party members' sight, but doe sit do damage to the party members as well?

    Fireball?

No friendly spells affect the party with the exceptions of Grease and Sleet Storm AFAIK.

Those two are really annoying in PUGs. They can work well in guild groups if characters are designed for them.

No, DDO characters cannot do hitpoint damage to party members. The only way your spells can negatively effect a teammate:
    1. A spell that is a combination buff/debuff, like Rage.
    2. A spell that makes the floor slippery.
    3. If the visual of the spell messes up his screen.
    4. If the spell sets off a trap (like an exploding barrel)
    5. If the spell pulls aggro or unfascinates some monsters and they come hurt you

It would be really interesting if ddo added a couple of powerful spells that also affects party members. Of course there is such a possibility for griefing with friendly fire that ddo probably wouldn't add friendly fire, but it sure would be interesting and fun if they did (the times of course when there was no griefing associated).
