It likely won't affect ranged combat, Devs don't like ranged combat it seems. But we don't know any firm information on this PRC.

I think this is meant to be a response to another one of the OP's threads. And in P&P you CAN be a Kensai and have the class bonuses apply to bows.

nope its a Weapon based combat prestige class

one of its abilities as read straight from the book says this

Signature Weapon (su): The kensai choses one of his weapons (it must be one for which he has the Weapon Focus feat) to become a signature weapon. Most kensai chose either a sword or a BOW for this weapon, but even a kensai's natural weapons can be chosen.If the weapon is a manufactured one, it must be of at least masterwork quality.

And? In P&P Arcane Archer is an elf only PrC.

Also, one last thought before I stop following this thread: No details on the PrE have been released. When I pointed out the Kensai to the OP in the other thread I suggested he keep his ear to the ground about it because in P&P you can take it with an archer.

Oriental Adventure's is the same as the old 3.0 PrC, only the "crit mult +1" is "crit mult +1 x/rest", which is a little less broken than a static +1 mult that's always active.
