Exalted Smite

I just hit a critical Exalted Smite 3 with a +11 to damage on a Transmuting righteous heavy pick. I only did 90 damage.

That seems to me to be virtually impossible.

90 damage/6 multiplier is 15 points of damage. The MINIMIM damage from the weapon is 12. If the reaver is evil, then that is 14. I find it hard to believe that only three points of damage is added by 15 levels of paladin....

Back about a year ago, I was doing 230+ with just the physical damage on a critical holy smite.

Anyone else have this issue?

Does the creature you were fighting have fortification by any chance?

What were you fighting and with what kind of weapon?

Was the numebr Yellow or Red?


Capture a Screen SHot next time.. That doesnt sound possible unless your dealing with some significant DR.

I'm almost positive he's neutral on that axis. Additionally, Exalted Smite/Smite Evil only work on evil creatures, so the smite didn't increase your damage in the first place.

He's Lawful Neutral, IIRC. Smite Evil doesn't work on him, nor does Holy damage.

He was being controlled by a dracolich. It took killing him to get him to snap out of it.
