Default Intimidate still only allowing half-ranks

    Hello Community...

Maybe this is some kind of oversight on my part, but I thought when you multi-class you get the beneift of having each of your class' skills as a class-skill.

It seemed odd when I levelled my pally the last couple times (currently 4 Pal/2 Ftr) that he's still only getting 0.5 ranks per skill point spent on Intimidate.

Am I doing something wrong? :-(

nope, it's not wrong. that's how it's supposed to work.

having fighter levels means the cap of the intimidate skill is character level+3 like other class skills (instead of (CL+3)/2 like cross-class skills), but pally skill points will still increase intimidate by .5 at a time.
in effect, having the fighter levels allows you to spend 2x the skills into intimidate to get that "class skill" rating.

it's one of the more confusing D&D 3e mechanics.

Multi-classing does not make it a class skill for a different class
It just raises the maximum you can get to full potential

So if you multiclass fighter or rogue to get intimidate on your paladin, you will be able to max it to (1 rank per level)+3 but it will still cost the 2 skill points of a cross-class skill

You still get 0.5 rank per point, but the maximum rank has now been increased to [character level + 3].
