Just an FYI - you can use the little up and down arrows instead of the scroll bar and it won't suddenly close on you. They should still fix it, but you'll be less frustrated just using the arrows than waiting for a fix. I added it to my known issues not yet listed as known list as it is irritating.
well you just gave them a reason not to fix it nice

it likes to close on long named items.
The problem here is that the collision detection region for the corner "X" to close the window is incorrect, and part of that region is down on the scrollbar below it. Thus clicking to scroll may often close the window. (The detection region apparently moves when you resize the window, for one thing)
This is more of a problem for the ingredient bag, because it has a long list of potential contents and yet lacks the hierarchical sorting that makes the collectible bag manageable. (Plus of course players don't have much complex interaction with collectibles)

ah, so it is, I thought there is sth wrong with my mouse.
It's not like we have to recall and go back into quests in the Vale, then exit again through the front door so we can recall to Meridia instead of the twelve, or that we would have to waste DD scrolls to let the party exit the Shroud from the front door as recalling sets you in the harbor, or have to /death to get to Meridia if we join a shroud raid (assuming we are bound there) because there is no way to tele back to Meridia once you've found it....
Oh wait, they haven't fixed any of those yet, but that's all so brand new they haven't had 5 months, 3 patches and a full mod to fix it...
Oh wait, yeah we're screwed, use the work-around, it probably won't ever be fixed.
Interesting theory - it seems to me though, that the bag only disappears when you try to scroll with the scroll bar, regardless of where you grab the scroll bar. Not terribly concerned though the bug is as easy to repeat as any could ever be, so if there were resources allocated to correcting it they could figure it out pretty quick.
Ingred Bags called and insists that she's just fine and doesn't need fixing.

Does it happen often? I tried to make this happen last night. I opened several different bags, scrolled up and down by dragging the scroll bar, and none of them ever closed by themselves. I tried gem, ingredient and collectable bags, mostly large but a few mediums, both full and sparsly filled ones, and on different characters. Yes I had alot of time on my hands.

Tried going slow, still didnt do it. Does it happen to you in both full screen and windowed mode? If just in full screen, you might solve it by turning on "Fakefullscreen" in the user preferences (i think thats what it was). I had to do that to fix a different mouse problem.

Its nothing to do with Turbine only caring about your $15 a month, its to do with the amount of $15 a month they get
and how many Dev's they can pay.
Having a bug like this is annoying as all hell and, like Akla said, the fact that there is a workaround means they wont be
fixing it any time soon. Limited resources means limited time to spend on things that dont necessarily need fixed.
Thats why we have no teleporter to Meridia, thats why the quest log-in screen shows the wrong difficulty sometimes,
thats why the Titans shields dont come down when he dies.
But, yes, these bugs and many more are annoying and they take away from the game experience but we're not LOTR,
we're DDO and the two guys who make this game can't do everything.
