    Default Trying to build a monk... yet again

    This will be my 3rd (and final I hope) attempt at building a viable monk. My first two ended up being too flawed to enjoy. I don't mind a flaw here or there, but they were gimped.

    I do have a nice collection of kamas, quarterstaves, and handwraps though, so I'm gonna try to make this monk viable with all three monk weapons available.


    16 Halfling Monk 32 pts.

    str 14 (2 level ups)
    dex 16
    con 14
    int 8
    wis 16 (2 level ups)
    cha 8

    str 23 (14 + 2 levels + 6 item + 1 tome)
    dex 25 (16 + 2 enhancement + 6 item + 1 tome)
    con 20 (14 + 6 item)
    wis 29 (16 + 2 levels + 3 enhancement + 6 item + 2 favor tome)

    Stats at level 16 in each stance:

    Water stance -- Spend most time here in handwrap combat using Stunning Fist and Quivering Palm

    str 21
    dex 25
    con 20
    wis 32

    attack bonus +34-38 on first swing - 16 bab + 7 dex + 5 flanking + 4 GH + 1 size + 1-5 weapon
    +29-33 with PA

    Air stance -- Use this stance for two weapon kama combat (vorpal, stat damage, etc.)

    str 23
    dex 28
    con 18
    wis 29

    attack bonus +34-38 on first swing - 16 bab + 9 dex + 5 flanking + 4 GH + 1 size + 1-5 weapon - 2 TWF
    +29-33 with PA

    Fire stance -- Use this stance for quarterstaff combat against boss mobs immune to monk specials/weapon effects

    str 28 (chug a rage pot)
    dex 25
    con 22 (yay rage pots)
    wis 27

    attack bonus +36-40 on first swing - 16 bab + 9 str + 5 flanking + 4 GH + 1 size + 1-5 weapon
    +31-35 with PA

    Skills

    max concentration, split the rest between jump, spot, and tumble

    AC

    should be able to get fairly high without too much high end gear

    Saves

    should be pretty high especially in Water stance

    Monk attack DCs

    10 + 8 + 11 = 29 (is this high enough?)


    It is crucial for this build to be mobile in combat. It will need that flanking bonus to keep to-hit up to par. That's why I chose Spring Attack. I don't want to lose any attack bonus with as much moving as I will need to do.

    So what do you think? Viable? Or will he be joining my first two monks on the scrap heap? Any tips/criticism appreciated.

    I would not put the 2 points in to str put one in str and one in dex for better stats.
    Air dosnt give saves water does.

    Yes, I knew that... typo fixed. Not exactly sure how that would give me better stats. As is set up now I am at an even number for the main stat in each of the 3 stances. I will eventually loot/trade for/buy a +2 dex tome if I am enjoying the build to have an even number dex while in Water stance for weapon finesse.
