Quick question regarding sorc UMD

What is the best crafted item to raise your UMD ? thanks in advance !!!

Coincidentaly for a sorc, the best crafted item for Umd is a spell point item with +cha skills. It doesn't matter what slot you put it in, but you can make it with all positive, all air, or air+positive.

I would go all air. It will save you 1 large scale and give you a nice air guard.

Of course sp is double for sorcs so Wiz 6 is really +250 plus +300 sp exceptional bonus

This recipe is only requires single large shard. There are others. Its possible to go air air as Lithic says and get a haste clickie and Air Guard with a single shard or go Air Pos with a double shard and get Lightning Strike that procs when hit approx 600 lightnign damage and get a chain lightning clickie. All three recipies give +6 charisma skills, the Wiz 6 and 150sp exceptional bonus.

Alternatively i fyou dont care about tier3 effects (and on a caster, most suck), I would suggest Neg/Pos/Air. You lose 1 pt of cha skills, but save a spot for the wisdom item. Posx3 isnt great due to the sucky proc of disruption guard (and what sorc wants to get beat on by undead), as well as the ease of raise dead scrolls. 3xday of a 1min36 haste clickie also saves the sorc mana.

Same here. I don't want to give up Enlarge, or Extend. I dumped Skill Focus: UMD for Heighten which was difficult for me to do but I'm happy that I did it. Perhaps at 18 I will get FoP.

I find the True Resurrection clickies to be great. Besides saving the plat for raise dead scrolls, which I carry but rarely use, True Resurrection restores All of the characters hit points, unlike resurrection which does not. I think that is a great feature, not to have the cleric you just raised, die immediately due to lack of hps. I like seeing the barb at his full 600 hps too.


Disruption guard is not a big deal. I would not go out of my way to get it but it comes free so why not? I would not dual shard to get Lightning Strike either unless I had some to spare. Then again I might, just to see that awesome graphic.
