I wouldn't mind a greatpick that just used the greataxe animation.

Scythes should be slashing. Watch someone use one on grain sometime. They have a point because you don't need the strength of a wide blade along the whole edge, so you save some weight by narrowing it down as it goes.

In PnP they do slashing or piercing.
