'ello all.
I'm playing my (frustrating) baby monk. I manged to make my bleeding save in a dungeon, equipped a candy cane, and died.
The candy cane replaced +1 handwraps.
So, uhm, who can tell me why I died?

You must gather your party before venturing forth.
I don't know.
But assuming I did, changing to a candy counts as changing to a weapon?
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
To expand on this a little...
When you took your candy cane in your hand you became "uncentered". This caused you to lose your monk stances. If you were in Earth stance at the time, you would have lost the +2 con bonus that earth stance provides, dropping your HP by a number equal to your level. If you were at 1hp, you could have easily died.

Aye, I figured that.
So.. if I replace the handwraps with anything I become "uncentered"?
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

DDOwiki.com, #1 source for DDO information.
You remain centered if you change to kama or quarterstaff.
Another easy way to become uncentered is to be hit with Ray of Enfeeblement, which is usually a nonfatal debuff.
Note that the converse applies: if you are in air stance, you may recover from incap by being uncentered.
(laughs heartily)
I hate this game.
(In other words: it's bull that I cannot change to a candy but I can change to a weapon)
..thanks for the help guys..
