For NBHS, all he would need to do is make the character lawful and splash the monk level late to get the crazy +10 or so AC bonus and monk feat - nothing is really preventing this character from getting up to a pretty darn good AC. At the current cap he wouldn't even lose any spells.

    My level split would be 17 cleric/2 rogue/ 1monk

Most likely 18 Cleric/2 Rogue on my planned Human. Don't think the AC would matter much (and I'm expecting them to do SOMETHING to help AC in Armor/Shield, so I think the gain by going Monk would be nominal, but that's just speculation) and skills should probably be okay: DD, Search, and UMD maxed. 36 ranks left to split between OL and Spot however you want.

I'll be keeping an eye on the high water marks for rogue skills... AS long as I can keep up, I wont be taking any mor enon-cleric levels. If I need a boost in any skill, I'll take one more level of rogue.

Monks Plash for AC? nah, Builds like this have other things to worry about than AC.... no Room for Chaos Guards, +5 Protection Item, Chattering RIng, etcf etc etc... WHat would it give me really? a 35?

35 is about right without strenuous efforts.

This is what I came up with for Pantalaimon..:

    Base: 10
    Silken Mail: 9
    +5 mithril shield: 6
    Dex: 4
    Protection: 4
    Shield and armor rituals?: 2
    ==================
    AC= 35

+2 v. chaos for planar gird...

Plus I could go the +4 AC route on a GS item, but wont count on that.

well, as far as what a 14/2 cleric monk gets, mines looking at about

    10base
    15 wis
    6 dex
    5 prot
    5 blue robe (with alc)
    3 dodge
    3 nat
    4 GS
    _____________
    51 standing unbuffed.

Not gunna go with AC bracers/ dodge robe because dont have item space for that and everthing else. Thats also not counting a possible chattering.

We're not talking about Monk/Clerics in this thread, its a Rogue Cleric. Rogue Clerics have a tougher time with item slots for sure.

So's Pantalaimon. 61 search (my pure rogue friends laugh at me.. say I got carried away). Evasion is the new French Vanilla, so he's popular for Kobold, the shroud and birthday parties...

My basic gear is DT robes, minos legens, SP/Int skills greensteel item, Head of Good Fortune, and for weapons a potency item and a wisdom greensteel. 256hp/1460 sp, Reflex save is +22 self buffed. That's a weak point.. on hard/elite I can stand in a trap to disable it..

Yeah, Reflex saves are a bugger with the build... QUick tip for ya.. Loot every Holy aura scroll you can get your hands on and send em to Pant... The save bonus stacks... They help out steelyn quite a bit! I can get her Reflex up to a 26 or 27 now and it makes a big difference.

Default Reflex Saves and Human option

I've been thinking about this build.

The way I understand it, you put points into Dex mainly for rogue skills and reflex saves, correct?
If that's the case, and since you yourself say that reflex saves are a bugger on the build, have you considered going human with it and taking Insightful Reflexes as level 1 bonus feat?
That way you could drop dex a little in favour of int, plus you could boost your reflex saves quite a bit. Let me know if the idea is rubbish, I'm a bit out of practice in planning builds...

I've got a human cleric version of this build here:

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=180949

I was about to post that it was a pretty similar build but after reading through both, they are quite different.

My dex isn't as high so the insightful reflexes doesn't really apply (although i did take lighning reflexes as my bonus feat) and my rogue skills are slightly better.

DEX and INT wind up the same int he end on this build. Insightful reflexes wouldnt realluy help that much.

Int is already at 16. To go to 18 you'd need 6 more build points.. that drops dex down to 8... (On a human) losing 3 pointsof Open Lock in the process. You also drop 2 Spot and Search from racial. Its a ripple effect that is difficult to keep under control...

All for 1 more point in Reflex? You actually be better off taking Lightning Reflexes with that human feet and leave the stats alone... +2 reflex save.

Hi, newbie here. I thought this would be an interesting character to duo with a fighter friend of mine. The idea is that I'd be able to provide heals/buffs and trapsmithing. But since we're a long ways from 1750 favor and can't afford tomes, I tried converting this into a 28-point build w/o tomes. I'm not sure how well the result ended up, and I ended up porting it to a Drow to make up some of the differences.

My main concern seems to be that w/o the extra INT from the tomes, I can't seem to match the skill investments. Since I haven't gotten a character past the marketplace yet, I don't know how that'll turn out. Anyways, here goes:

Thoughts? I'm worried that listen seems pretty low, and a lot of the other builds I've seen out there seem to have a TON more in the trapsmithing skills than I was able to fit in. I know that gear will help cover some of the differences, but again, not having any idea how bad the DC on traps are for mid/end game dungeon, I'd really appreciate any feedback.

If this kind of build just isn't viable w/o a 32-point start and tomes, I'll probably go heavy rogue instead, and rely heavily on UMD. The friend can roll a pally instead of a fighter and bring in more heal/buff support that way.

Mercadia, I play a very similar buid, which is no tome, 28 point. This was designed to be a solo build, so I'm sure it would work fine in a duo setting. In fact, I think this build is a modified build of something I did a few months ago, and that build is based on Impact's build, with some modifications to allow for soloing and the lack of tomes/4 ability ponits.

It works pretty well, though with the lack of STR, she does a fair amount of whiffing. If this were a 32 pointer, I'd put all 4 points into STR, and this would be a powerhouse soloing build
