    Dropping UMD works.
    Little bit less flex but its not mandatory...just usefull.
    But UMD is all or nothing...so if your gonna drop it...drop it entirely.

    Personally I don't have the stores of RR items to play with so that was the first thing I slashed away.
    Disable device is your bread and butter.
    Open lock,Spot and search you spread the rest of your skill points here...try to keep even.

    If you can scrape up an +1 int tome,consider a level up int point.Not optimal...but a heck of a lot cheaper.+1 tomes are on the ddo store and its easy enough to get the 355 points.Try to get the tome used before level 4.

    Really enjoying taking my rogue/cleric out to the battlefield. Both as party healer, and also where he can stretch his legs as an off-tank melee now and again.

    He's in particular demand for the Hall of the Third Legion, although my reflex saves are still the rub and I'm a bit squishy for that end fight. Being able to sneak helps in many situations, and my saves seem "adequate." I'm hitting recitation/holy aura quite a bit, and man, now I miss extend far more than ever before.

    Well obviously I'm new to the game (started in the beta this summer). I'm the kind of weird person who enjoys watching health bars and doing solo challenges for fun. So of course cleric was near the top of my list when it came to trying out classes in this game. I started a build similar to yours after reading this topic to try and get a solo character running. I've messed around a bit with it, but in my state blissful ignorance, I can't help but wonder why rogue skills would be needed that badly for a solo build.

    Through the beta I ran a ranger/rogue with the general idea of having a melee DPS character with skill utility thrown in. I only made it to level 5, so obviously I'm speaking through my hat a bit, but from what I've seen utility skills don't seem to be that much of a concern. Open lock led to some optional treasure, and disable trap meant taking less damage. Basically, if I hadn't happened on this topic, my idea of an ideal solo character would have been a straight cleric with high wisdom, constitution and strength. What makes skills like open lock, disable device, spot, listen, etc. valuable enough to justify pumping intelligence to high levels and skimming wisdom, constitution and strength? Not to mention blowing enhancements and feats to improve said skills.

    Please enlighten me

    Because its a Challenge.

    In higher levels there are indeed places where having ROgue skills are very handy. Rarely "Required" granted, but definitly handy.

    I do more soloing on my pure clerics than I do on my Rogue Clerics But if I feel like doing something with some locks and traps, I'll grab this character.

    Its variety. Its flexibility.

    Most of us also have many characters to choose from so we like to mix it up a bit. what fun would it be if I have 13 Characters that were all the exact same build?

    For me personally, when I solo, I like to get into those places that only a rogue can get into, thus the thief skills. For my style of play, that's an important aspect. If that's not something that interests you, then for sure go with a pure cleric (or perhaps a sorc WF).

    Also, I get XP bonuses that a pure cleric would not be able to get

    Impaqt, have you thought about revisiting this build idea with Favored Soul levels rather than cleric levels? You would get a better reflex save, and could trade in the Mental Toughness feats for regular Toughness and some spell pen.
    Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    I've tried a few FvS/Rogue Variants and just cant get it to my liking. I'm gonna keep messin with it, but I doubt I'm gonna roll one cause I'm quite happy with this build right now and I dont need 2 Divine rogues.

    I've been following this build (currently lvl 7) and have a couple questions.
    Why 4 lvls of rouge?
    What type of armor and weapon did you carry? (full plate/lightning heavy mace)
    I have an acid long sword, but it says I'm not proficent... Why?

    Now that tomes have a min lvl, what's the best way to build this?

    I bought a +2 intel tome from the DDO store before I realized it couldn't be used before lvl 7.....grr

    So I'm getting close to 20 on my version of this and was thinking that since this is a ability point challenged build, that I may True Rez this guy (maybe twice if I can handle the first leveling )

    For discussion, if you were to build this from scratch with the extra ability points, how would anyone change it?

    Which classes would you have started with, for the free past life feats
    While a total completionist x3 is the biggest bang, for this discussion limit it to 2

    For me, I'm obviously stuck with Cleric, which wouldn't be my first choice

    I think Wizard or Sorceror have big benefits, to make up for the loss of DC from the Rogue levels, either Spell Pen or Blade Barrier DC, whichever you would rather have.

    Now the only other thing I want to know is will the third tier Cleric PrE's be worth only going 2 Rogue (assuming standard 6,12,18)

    My venerable 28pter of version 1 of this build (Pantalaimon, my main, in my sig) just hit level 20.. still a blast to play, and occasionally I pull a rabbit out of my hat like bailing the rogue out for the traps in Sunken Parish (self-buffed search=63).

    My reflex save is a concern, especially for Hard/Elite/Epic. My unbuffed is 18, so with self-applied GH, Recitation, and Holy Aura I'm still ~ 29 Reflex. That has bailed me out countless times.

    I have no plans to true reincarnate him, but he will get a Greater when they become available. There's an argument for the Favored Soul version of this build (more SP, five more points of reflex save), if you can find the stat points for everything - maybe on a 1st or 2nd TR, and can handle the shortage of spell slots.

    I was hoping to remake my 28pt version now that I've got 32pt, but we can't use +2 Int Tomes at lvl 1 anymore.

    The build is so reliant on the skill points; is the build still practical without the early tome?

    its not necessary. That will free up the skill points you need to save and then some.

    I would suggest putting all the spot points into Search at this point anyway.

    If you followed Ron's build and went human, then the reason you are not proficient is that neither rogue/nor cleric have Martial Weapon Prof (required to use Longsword). Elves are automatically proficient with Longswords and Longbows.

    What would you use for what? SPot is only early warning, and even without a lot of points into it, a Rogue Cleric will have a very good spot check. Is you suspect a trap or secret door, just search around.

    After looking at your 3.0 version build, I must say I love it. The ability to heal and do traps for a group is right up my alley. I did have one question. I noticed in your starting stats you start with a Int 17 and Wis 17 and use a +1 Int tomb at 3rd lvl and +1 stat skill pump at 8th lvl. I am very new to this game, but couldnt you just start with a Int 18 and Wis 16 make the lvl 8 stat bump go into wisdom instead of intelligence and end up with the same ending stats but gain 6 more skill points for lvls 1-3?

    I may have looked at something totally backwards or you did this for some reason I don't know about thanks for any advice. Great build...

    Question number 2 any reason you didnt use a dark elf for this build. Seems like if you use dark elf template you end up with 2 more stat points to distribute at creation and just switch out rapiers for longswords in the early levels. If it was just for RP reasons or because you like elves no worries just wondering because this build did seem to favor a dark elf at creation. Furthermore if you did make it as a dark elf where would you put the two extra skill adds would you put them, I was thinking dex but not sure.
