    Default Feat list

I recently decided to swap around some Feats on my Fighter, and it made me realize how much of a pain it is not knowing what levels I actually took each Feat at. I had them listed initially, but have switched several around over the years, so I no longer know for certain.

When switching Feats by talking to Fred, that information is partially available, but ONLY for the Feats that are eligible to be swapped out...any prerequisite Feats are not listed because you cannot currently swap them. For Fighters in particular, this can be important because knowing what levels each was taken at, and whether or not it qualifies as a level or Fighter Feat, makes a huge impact on planning Feat changes. For example, trying to switch WF, WS, GWF, GWS and IC to another line and making sure that the BAB prerequisite is met at each step is far more complicated than it should be, not to mention that I have to wait 3 days between each switch.

I tried contacting an in-game GM, and they supposedly were not able to determine what Feats I had taken at each level. However it's done, providing this information could be very useful, and it seems like this should be able to be added to your Character Sheet list of Feats.

I actually completely agree with you, I can not stand trying to figure out how I'm going to respec my lvl 8 fighter, I'm seriously thinking about rerolling (I know it's sooo fast to reroll right? no big deal? Don't want to hear it, I don't get to play that often - it is a big deal to me) and starting from scratch because of how much of a headache it is

This is not to take away any of the validity of your statement. However, *because* they don't tell you, or give you any way to find out, I would suggest that, with any new characters you create, you try to start with a character plan, print it, and update it as you go along. Sure, it's a tedious process, but it's more helpful than the GM when it comes time to re-spec.

In the mean time, I concur. Having a detailed in-game character sheet would be extremely useful to quite a few of us.

That's a fine idea on new characters, but I probably started this one and year and a half ago :|

I made that character in February of 2006 and I have my notes from back then, but unfortunately I can't find my notes from when I went through a fairly major Feat respec when Weighted weapons were introduced to go from Slashing to Bludgeoning. So I agree with you on principle, but keeping track of a random piece of paper over the course of the 2.5 years and moving to a new house apparently didn't work out so well .

LOL! Best laid plans, eh!?! I know what you mean. I lost the original build plan for my main character, and had to re-create it as best I could from what I could remember and what limited information I could see on my character sheet. In my case, I hadn't printed it, though, so there's a txt file for Ron's DDO Character Planner for that build on some drive, somewhere. Maybe one of these days I'll find it!
