Talking Ninja Barb (32 pt. Halfling Barb/Rogue)

I just finished leveling up a 32 pt. Halfling 14 Barb / 2 Rogue and was looking for ideas on what other hybrids might do a little differently and how things have worked out for them. Specifically with the enhancements I picked up. I went halfling because of the recent DPS love they received along with a small bump to saving throws to work with the evasion and the bonus tohit. These traits of the halfling fit with the theme of my little guy running around in a monk outfit (No appreciable AC) and a bandit mask that has charges of rage on it. The UMD is nice because when I'm not raged I can swap some gear and do things like GH myself, stoneskin myself, raise the dead, etc. when I'm not raging or if I feel like dispelling a rage. Having the ability to wear race required/alignment restricted gear has been a huge plus for me also. Primarily, I use W/P melee weapons for non-red nameds or Holy Burst Heavy Picks for most things that are non-red named. I have run all the raids a few times and have not picked up a whole lot in the way of loot, but have had a good time so far and will continue to play him although he isnt my main. EDIT: After playing around with the enhancements some I finalized what I think works best for me. Dropped down to 6 rages per rest since I wasn't using them all in-between shrines and wanted Guile IV for the extra DPS.

tharnes bracers is +6 str and when combined with goggles will give u ghost touch, saving u the need to find spectral gloves as well as opening up an item spot

imo, scourge choker is not good for fleshies as the fatigue caused is -50% attack speed. u lose more dps

going heavy pick and light pick will save u 1 feat. OTWF is best used when u want to use 2 khopeshes or 2 dwarven axes where their light equivalent is non existent or far off

with a nonexistant AC, you might want to pick up some DR enhancements for damage mitigation
If you want to know why...

Love the suggestions. As far as the tharne's bracers go that would be very cool; however, I have the Levik's bracers on my main and I think the healing amplification would be even better for this guy since he gets autohit when not blurred/displaced. I already have the spectral gloves on this guy and they are pretty handy when I don't have a pocket bard running vale quests (I like those along with all the raids). As far as the scourge choker goes, it doesnt get a whole lot of use but is swapped in situationally. I.E. Our main tank in Vision went down the other day on the second orthons spawn and I had to jump in to manage the big guy while the rest of the crew took out the orthons. The healers were strapped so I threw a shield on and shield blocked with the choker on to get my hp up while the situation cleaned itself up.

I have considered dropping OTWF and may still do it yet. The problem IMO is that when I'm using My W/P weapons, they are both heavies and I hate losing the tohit bonus while I am power attacking. To make the issue worse, they are only +2 and +1 to hit and I cant stand missing even on my first swings. If I end up with the breastplate of destruction from the hound I think I will give it a shot and maybe start wearing that. The extra point of Damage from the heavy pick is always nice also although not a huge deal. The DR enhancements are something that would be nice, but I'm not sure what I would drop to pick them up; the DPS from the halfling side of things is lots of fun

edit: tharne bracers is +6 dex +6 ac i think not str. so u get some ac and also free up a slot. healing amp is fine but with most barbs the clerics are using heal spell and scrolls so not much difference there but it really helps when getting mass heals

choker fatigue hits wf as well

been wanting to build a barb/rog as well, but I cant bring myself to roll up a halfling, and I cant help feeling that making a wf version of it would be half---

    Default Whup

Well Blacksteel I'll let you know how it turns out. Whup was built along these very same principles. A couple of stat changes having Int higher and Chr lower for more skill points allows me to use open lock as well when not raging. But he is WF, I just couldn't get away from the idea of a WF Barb, though I'm thinking the halfling grunt is funnier.

A bit behind, but Tharne's Bracers are +6 Dex/+6 AC, not +6 Str.

Levik's Bracers from Hound are +6 Str/+20% Healing Amplification.
