Bard Cloak!!!!!

Ok so i have run VoD 43 times and seen the bard cloak 52 times.

Is this just me or have others experienced the same thing. I want to hear from peeps that have run this often, I dont care if you have run this 3 times and never seen it.

At a certain point this cant be bad luck. 2 more VoD runs tonight, 2 pieces of raid loot, 2 fricken bard cloaks.

How can this be?

I can count on one hand the times I have seen the bracers drop, not just the caster bracers but the ac bracers as well.

Makes a kind of sense, because the Bard's Cloak is the weakest VOD loot item (bad enough that some bards don't even want it, prefering Reaver's Napkin or Mineral2)

Too bad they don't stack in inventory - maybe that could be changed given they drop as often as shards do?

armor drops probably 8/10 (only play wf so dont really pay attention to it)

The run the other day where we pulled 5 Bard's Cloaks has to be very unusual. I have certainly seen 5 or more pieces of raid loot many many times but all of the same item? Anyone else ever have this happen?

I wonder what the chances are? What's extra funny is that this happened after the whole Bard Cloak thing had become a joke in our guild and the PUGs we run with. It was so unlikely but the only reaction from the group was like - yup - Bard Cloaks - nothing new here.

Somebody in code land has a misplaced modifier or gerund or homeric simile or something.

Not only have I seen this drop more than anything else, it likes to drop multiple times in the same run I'm going to start calling Vision the 2x Bard Cloak run.

Pretty sure they said that when they told us the chances of a +3 tome from the reaver was like 0.8%, though that maybe for your 20th run pull.

They actually said the chance of a +3 tome for a particular stat(Charisma in that discussion, I believe) dropping was about .8%, which would mean the chance of any tome would be approximately 5%. I think the discussion was for 20th rewards, but it is probably the same for the chest as well.

I bet you couldn't find one person who has ran the Titan 50+ times who will argue that the Jungle Cloak is as common as the Belt of Brute Strength.

Something is up with the drop rate on that belt...and it isn't luck.

If you have two lottery tickets, each wtih 50% chance of winning, that doesn't mean that you have 100% chance of winning...

0.8% is 0.8% for every tome, every time you roll...it doesn't turn into 5% (or 4.8%) at any point...

/agreed Ran reaver the other day and a guy on his 4th run ever pulled a +3 Wis tome...and was even gracious enough to let myself and another guy roll for it (we were both clerics...)

There's no reason for them to say it, because it's so completely obvious. Everyone knows there are common raid drops and rare raid drops, and that isn't a topic in dispute.

I have 60 runs on the titan and I haven't seen either. But that doesnt mean they dont have different drop rates.

Actually, this I can believe, and not of any direct fault of turbine, but the fact of very crappy "random" number generation (a fault of just about every random number generator), to the point certain ranges will be hit more than others within a given time period.

If you ever played BESM, you know it is a bases of 2d6, where the lower the better. Believe me when I state that I loved using a computer for the dice with BESM because lower numbers happened way more often than true dice. But when it comes to D20 systems I much prefer dice.

Oh yeah, i still don't have a bard cloak.
