hotbar tip?

Is there anyway to make the hotbars smaller? It seems to me when I see screenshots from people there bars don't take up as much room as mine. FYI I have a 19" wide screen is that the prob?

Here's two quick things
1) There's a skin that turns off some of the chrome on the hotbars.
2) You can also lock the hotbars, which makes them a bit smaller.
