I have a lvl 8 ranger, im not inpressed by him becuase he is as gimped as hell..

However I want to make a rogue, that not only can disarm traps, do backflips, and do rogue things, but also fight!

I want him to be able to be a capalabe fighter..

any help for which feats i should take? atributes to spend
i kinda wanted to be melee, sense my ranger was ranged.

Of course hes gonna be a drow

oh yeah...one more thing! why is making good characters so firggin hard??!

you have to make characters with an explicit purpose is what I find

unfortunately you want a lot for a little here and that's gonna be hard to put together. i've seen few capable rogue melees, really, if this is your first toon start out with something simple. go wf barb or dwarf ranger or human fighter and take it all the way

i dont think you're asking too much, i just think that you should probably take tots advice. rogues are hard to play.

if you're playing an archer ranger, of course he's gimped. use weapons and you won't be as unhappy.

yeah, didn't notice that, ranged combat is fairly broken at the moment, go straight melee if anything with some trap smith in ya.

Be a Ranger and throw in some Rogue levels. Buy the Disable/ UMD /Open Lock skills cross-class while leveling Ranger.

Start with Rogue then some ranger. Try to end as 4 Rogue / 12 Ranger.
You wont be an Über-Meatshield-Carnage-Master-of-Death, but a capable fighter.

10 Rogue/6 Ranger for WotA I/Tempest.

She could have some OL/DD Skills invested for emergencies, but would mostly be designed for Stealth kills, but once she has aggro, she'd continue to hit hard. I know others have thought about this, but I've only seen one in action.

If you want to go Rogue, think about Way of the Assassin II. You'll mostly be hitting things while in Sneak mode, but you'll be hitting them very hard. In fact, I think it's the highest dps-build in the game, right now, and it's one of the few melee builds I've seen who can convincingly outkill my Tempest Ranger/Paladin.

The reason it's so difficult to make a really good build is because there are so many different viable builds, and there are trade-offs with every strength. So it is that you get a great build going, get him a bunch of +2 Tomes to increase his abilities, and once you've eaten the tomes, you'll realize you've forgotten something. . . Well, that's how I do it, anyway.
