Default An Acrobat, a Greensteel Staff, and his Mithril Companion.

While groups may scream in fear, this looks to be a fun build. Unfortunetely Acrobat II comes so late in the game as built, but that could be changed up if you are willing to live with early levels being (even more) gimped. Don't ask this Rogue about traps-- that's definitely not his way!

I have already started this build, but too early to tell if it will play as I hope.

Optional: 4th level Barbarian -- shown as with level increase that would give 6 levels of Barbarian and another extend and usage of rage. Could skip and take 13th level rogue which will provide a second rogue class skill (Slippery Mind or Improved Evasion maybe?) and maybe go more rogue with level cap increase or maybe swap out barb for fighter and splash a third class like monk. Third option is hold toon at 15 for cap increase as monk 3 might be nice (especially with a WF instead of a human).

Question: Is there any way to boost summon companion more then once per shrine?

Default I had this exact same thought

I had designed a character similar (though with more Rogue skills) and also tried the build using Fighter levels. I finally settled on going Fighter, but don't have the character slots to make it, so I put it on the back burner.

    My thoughts were as follows:
    • Level 13 Rogue: I decided pretty early on that the 13th level of Rogue was worth it. You get an extra ability (I was planning on Crippling Strike and Improved Evasion), plus an additional 1d6 damage on your Sneak Attack. And, if you're trying not to get noticed, you also have the option of Subtle Backstabbing IV.
    • Fighter Levels: I like having the extra feats. I figure take one level at level 2, then maybe another around level 8-9. Beyond that, additional fighter levels only give +1 Strength at level 6, so I may stop after the first two.
    • Monk Levels: Could be handy. With 5 levels, you'd get 2+Wisdom to your AC, Still Mind, better saves, and Immunity to Disease. The only downfall with adding Monk levels is that now you end up caring about Wisdom as well (if you're looking for a good AC).
Since the level cap is being raised in the (somewhat) near future, I might switch out the Fighter levels with Monk levels and take Fighter later on in the path, just depends on how the feat need goes.

I hope you post how your build does and what you've done to it as you progress. I'm interested in seeing if it's a viable build or not. It would also be interesting seeing how Barbarian works out for you with Rages.

Can't take a monk level if you're not lawful.

Why 4 barbarian? Seems like an odd number of barbarian levels.

Silly Norg, 4 is an even number.

Sorry, obvious joke I know, but had to be said. These class boards get too serious sometimes.

I think for one of these I'd go a bit different

I'd drop the Companion and just get scrolls of Summon Monster 5... cause Earth Elementals with Earth Grab are fun for rogues

anyway I haven't run all the numbers on this but hey here is one I was thinking about

    "Why Barb-4?"

You get an extra rage at level 4 and extra enhancements if level cap raised to 18 and you take Barb-6 (which is the real reason I plan to do this at this point).

"Can't take Monk, if not Lawful"

Absolutely true, so if you plan to go that route don't go True Neutral and you can't go Barb. So take fighter instead and take a lawful alignment.

    "How's it play?"
I am currently 3 barb and almost 3 rogue. Playing awesome so far and grease is fun. Surprisingly not many groups have had a complaint about it yet. I tend to pull it out in big fights as it helps control agro -- steel defender does surprisingly well; I am looking forward to Mithril defender.

Hehe. yep, these boards are not that serious in reality though. I had fun the other day calling Thelanis a weaker server then Khyber, but I have nothing to base that on other then Khyber rules.. Same goes for Argo and their recent goes at a shroud speed record run. I know that somebody can hit 18 minutes eventually - it may be them it may be Khyber, but it sure is fun to talk it up a bit.

An aside: Although I must say I am getting a little tired of the pallys complaining - yeah they are suffering a bit now, but it is clear they are getting alot of stuff next mod. That demon/devil killer prestige enhancement (that we don't have alot of details on) has alot of potential for mod 9 which is set in the plane of devils - if anything there is the potential for a broken class for that mod. Monks are suffering alot, but I don't feel they have complained nearly as much as pally players and the devs I can see are working on fixing the monk class.

They aren't meant to be serious (afterall, ultimately these are internet boards discussing a video game) but you know as well as I do that some folks here get V E R Y serious and V E R Y touchy about their builds.

    Default Hey, Uproar

Any new news on how the build plays, Uproar? Once Module 8 comes out and I get my new character slot, I plan on creating my own Fighting Acrobat, and I'd just like to see if you have any lessons learned or any advice.
